@doubledodge LaTeX is currently not working here due to a CSP error. Sounds like it'll be fixed in our next update. If your browser supports disabling CSP, you can fix the problem that way (although you should first be aware of the risks) in the meantime.
Introductory toot
Having just celebrated 13 years on the "bird site" its time to move on to the Fediverse
I came partly for the #LaTeX and #markdown rendering (if I can get that to work properly)
I want to avoid the doomscrolling of UK politics that was increasingly the main feature of my bird site timeline, mostly triggered by the disasters on the UK political scene since the 2016 European Union crash-out (#Brexit).
So this account is for my other (more healthy) interests, these include (among many others)

About me: Retired electronics engineer who used to work on high power RF systems for particle accelerators and also on control and power systems for superconducting magnets.
Still suffering PTSD from too much man-management and time spent in meetings and committees.
Since this platform supports LaTeX here is my favourite mathematical equation (I am not sure why I see it displayed twice, inlcuding the first time with some monster sized symbols?)

I’m nearing 80K fans already here. I’m feeling the love, and not regretting spending some of my time here. Folks seem very nice, very supportive.

Your Home feed shows posts from all the accounts you follow. With Lists you can also construct other feeds comprising a subset of accounts you follow. With Filters you can hide posts containing keywords or phrases. With Followed Hashtags all posts containing a hashtag will also be shown in your Home feed.
