"Tech experts are starting to doubt that ChatGPT and A.I. ‘hallucinations’ will ever go away: ‘This isn’t fixable’"
whoa no shit sherlock it's a statistical model that composes answers that are statistically probable, not factual. it's almost like all it does is put a bunch of words that look like an answer next to each other and has zero grasp of what a fact even is conceptually
I wrote ⬆️ in the middle of the #COVID19 pandemic.
It was *infuriating* to see the number of tech bros who built half-arsed systems to handle confidential medical data.
Every single one of them thought that speed was more useful than safety - and every single thing they produced was a privacy nightmare.
Sometimes it is important to go swiftly and fix mistakes later. But it is more often the case that taking the time to do things the right way produces better long-term results.
@blaine "With an HDMI cable, connect your compatible dock to your monitor or TV." So seems to meet your broken screen issue. Basic HID is fine : https://fedorum.com/how-to-connect-external-usb-keyboard-and-mouse-to-a-pixel-6/
@blaine this seems to suggest display port is an option https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2865484?sjid=11768113432407230689-EU

Now that The Expanse is finished, I wanted to go behind the scenes and explain how they created the best space show of the last decade. Of course, I start with design and concept art!
Here's my interview with Lee Fitzgerald devoted to Season 2!

It's really just the beginning of what (I hope) will be a great resource dedicated to the making of #TheExpanse
Enjoy!

@Edent crop out tho numbers (fixed location so easy) and OCR?
Nearly every material, whether it is solid, liquid, or gas, expands when its temperature goes up and contracts when its temperature goes down.
There are a few exceptions, but by and large, materials conform strictly to this principle. There is, however, a class of metal alloys called Invars (think invariable), that stubbornly refuse to change in size and density over a large range of temperatures.
For over 100 years, the source of this unique property has remained a mystery, but now, researchers have finally discovered the mechanism that causes Invars to behave the way that they do.
It's my latest for work.

I wrote about something that's near and dear to me: breaking normal website things. I wish we would let our web apps just do very normal website things. Copy text. Navigating via links. etc. What ones did I miss? https://heather-buchel.com/blog/2023/07/just-normal-web-things/
OpenWindows! this seems to be running pretty well. SunOS 4.1.4 is a better match for this system than Solaris 2.5.1.
@makdaam @yaxu @steeph @netspooky "did you follow the instructions? No? GTFO."
Well, bugger
Off to bricklink !
