Can anyone help at all? My son (12) had his @microsoft account hacked and password changed etc so he's lost Minecraft, Roblox etc. He's been doing amazing with customer support for two weeks now but they keep sending him in loops getting no where. He's beyond frustrated, can't play with his mates, lost his whole online identity from birth. I don't know where to turn to help him recover it, as the official methods just aren't working. They keep saying they'll fix then ghost him.

today on “technological progress??”:

there’s a talk being given over Teams at work. my teammate at the next desk connected to the meeting shortly before it started and got called away, forgetting that the audio was on speaker

I connect to the call intending to listen over my headphones, but Teams somehow detected (through listening to my mic and comparing the audio? through bluetooth?) that there was another computer nearby already playing the meeting’s audio out loud and force muted everything on mine

I could unmute it but the warning strongly implies it will simultaneously unmute my mic and blast the meeting with background noise, so now I am sitting here listening to the audio on a laptop eight feet away like a normal person

@neil well done everyone in that article for missing the point. An Internet forum does not _cause_ suicide. You don't get a popup ad "have you considered suicide today?"

This is a classic example of trying to control demand for something by controlling supply, while completely ignoring the causal factors.

Has the government considered helping people with the crushing force of work-or-starve capitalism?
Have they tried giving people affordable housing not dependant on your ability to be abused by exploitative bosses?

The Series Finale of The Expanse won a Hugo Award, against excellent episodes of Andor, For All Mankind and Stranger Things.

What a perfect way to bow out (before the Laconia arc, of course 😌).
