For #new peeps, one great thing you can do is follow instance/server admins, hosts and moderators. It will give you a feel of how they run these things.

You won’t get that experience in any other social media right now. There is an actual human being behind the scenes. And a lot of them are cool, friendly, supportive and funny 😊

🚀 8 hours of gaming on Linux on battery on a MacBook Air!!!! 🚀

So I unplugged the M2 MacBook Air while running Xonotic windowed at 1920x1080 in a GNOME desktop at 60FPS...

The estimated battery runtime is almost 8 hours!!!!! ✨✨✨

Are you....

Of course I spent two hours templating an SVG so that it can compute dice rolls on the fly, why do you ask?

I've asked for advice regarding setting up Blender Mastodon. Conclusion: not now, we don't have manpower for it, and our focus should be on supporting making Blender itself.
Since 2002 Blender Foundation followed policy of keeping user/artist community services independent.

Free game of Garfield Kart - Furious Racing right now over at Fanatical. Steam key.

Fairly simple kart racing with throwing objects, and it seems pretty kid friendly from what I can see. Can be played solo, split screen, or online.

Elon's take over of Twitter has set a lot of things into motion in the digital world

Tumblr and now also Flickr are thinking about intergrating ActivityPub so it will be able to connect to the Fediverse!

A lot of lay offs in the mainstream social media but the Fediverse is only growing!

The world is waking up Social media can be fun but also privacy friendly at the same time, you got the proof now!❤️

My suggestion, spread this story to journalists and lets get some attention to it..

Here is the list of journalists on the fedi:

Hi everyone, I am new here and learning the platform. By way of background, I am a chemical biologist and glycoscientist on the Stanford Chemistry faculty. Known for creating a field called #bioorthogonal chemistry (for which I shared the 2022 NP) and launching biotech companies with new therapeutic and diagnostic platforms, mostly rooted in glycobiology. Passionate about interdisciplinary science, diversity equity and inclusion in STEM, peanut butter, gyms and 70s funk.

#TIL, For those in #stem or #research or #academia, https://qoto.org is the best option for finding an anchor in the #fediverse; @freemo has created an ecosystem where one can maintain codes, talk about work and life, and discuss -- a library and a water cooler all in one place.
Just amazing.
And instead of 500 characters, you can post stuff over 65K characters, plus add images and in markdown.
This is good, crazy good if you ask me!
