@apinae

We dont have any explicit rules on this. Since its AI generated I suppose it really just comes down to the rate you set it at, and if the posts are automated or not... also if you monitor your account..

Is your plan to host a regular account, be active, make regular posts, talk to people, and just occasionally throw in some AI art, or do you want to just automatically post AI art and nothing else automatically and not really be active in the community much?

All of these options are potentially workable but it effects if you can post unlisted or listed is all.

@jud

Tthis isnt twitter, and there is a huge difference. Here you need to just block a dozen or two servers.. on twitter you have to block each and every single user on your own, that isntt manageable.

Literally you spend 20 secondns and import the fediblock clock list and your problem is solved. An admin blocking for you wont make any difference, they would just be importing fediblock or similar as well.

@inspired

@bitbybot A lot sooner than you think... The more active accounts see dozens of follows a day.

Great to have you here!

@Middleway I am very happy to hear that and im glad I was able to make this a place you wannt to be! I look forward to getting to know you int he time to come.

I thought I’d start out here with how I arrived. But first, I want to thank @freemo for hosting this instance. I was not really looking to exit the twit as I had trimmed my follows down to some very useful feeds. But, once I noticed Mastodon due the mass exodus in the last weeks, it intrigued me. It sounded like a cross between bbs and the Well; all of which I enjoyed in the past. Once I understood I needed to find an instance, the hunt was on. After looking at many instances, uptimes, user numbers and reading many admins dispositions towards free speech in their instance, I settled on qoto.org. I was happy to see @freemo’s statement on free speech coupled with “but don’t be racist, sexist, hateful, and don’t harass people”. At the same time encouraging users to be adults and block what they don’t want in their feeds and providing directions to block lists for the more sensitive amongst us. Hit all the right buttons for me. I’m looking forward to learning about Mastodon and meeting new people. Oh yeah, and I like the character limits too!

@trinsec

The markdown is passed onto other servers... its just mastodon explicitly drops it and any styling because gargron said he likes it that way.

@s_gruppetta @peterdrake

@s_gruppetta

Oh no it **is** passed on to the server. your server just ignores it and drops it and refuses to render it.

@trinsec @peterdrake

@s_gruppetta

Thats largely for your instance's software to decide. Gargron refused to render the markdownn, other clients might render it.

@trinsec @peterdrake

@khird im happy to investigate further once we at least reach out and try a simpler solution first :)

@moffintosh

Appparently they think good people walking past a bad person hearing them shout bad things in the distance will make them convert to racism... I dont buy it.

@Hyolobrika

@PartialGestalt follow the user gets a notification you followed, and they might set it so they need to approve. It gives you access to both their public annd follower-only posts.

Subscribe does not notify the user and the user can not restrict who subscribes in any way, its completely anonymous. You will see their public posts but not their follower-only posts.
