I just realized something very powerful.....

I am sitting here, in my office, at a company I own a large chunk of, running the entire company, all because I made the discovery of a lifetime that will change the entire face of medicine int he next few years, save millions if not billions of lives, and about to go public on the stock exchange... everything suggests I havent just made the scientific discovery of a lifetime, saved the world (hopefully), but will probably be a billionaire in the next few years at this rate....

Yet here I am letting a few vile twerps on a small social media network get under my skin and hurt me... fuck them, they could only hope to do a fraction of the good I'm doing. All they want to do is lie, hurt, and tare down good people to make their own pathetic egos feel like it has some value...

I think im good, they only mattered because I let them.

WOW! Im suprised at the generosity everyone. I mentioned in a reply thread a way to donate to QOTO, didnt even make a public announcement about it, and already people are donating 3 figures a pop. Extremely generous. Thank you all of you! I feel like if we are going to take donations we should post some means of thanking those that donate and are ok with the recognition.

@tonic I appreciate that, but clearly david isnt listening, and is making it a point to sling dirt without showing links or screen shots... So I dont expect them to be remotely reasonable... I am always happy to talk and work things out, so if and when they are im always happy to forgive and forget.

Well "forced" might be a strong word. But @Gargron runs joinmastodon and ultimately he is the one who stated our policy is unacceptable for listing there.

It was just as unexpected and unwanted for me when I heard the list I used happened to be written by someone over at kiwi farms... but its also not a particularly important point as it is a cursory detail at best.

Ehat are you on about, cloudflare is completely unrelatted to what we are talking about. We dont "use kiwifarms".. there was a list on the internet and we looked at that list. The list happened to be coded by someone at kiwi farms and it wasnt immediately obvious at the time, that is all....

The vast majority of users want #2, and as we all know it is critical for hte physical safety of our LGBTQ community... clearly Gargron couldnt give a shit that his stance would put our LGBTQ community in physical danger.... sad.

I know right... Apparently he thinks it makes for a bad first time user experience... Of course I go out of my way to give new users access to the CSV from fediblock so they can block servers in one click if they want to.

Honestly I think he is just making excuses and caving to pressure. He just cant say that.

Thank you, though i did get an answer not too long ago... He sighted two reasons

The first he mentioned was because I used a tool that happened to be wrritten by someone at kiwifarms (though it wasnt under their domain name so i had no idea) that provited a list of blocked servers. I reached out to a handful of serverrs on that list to see if there were any problems with our server I could resolve.

The other reason is because we leave it to our users to decide who to federate with (this one seems like a weak excuse since this has been the case since day one when we got on the list).
