@admitsWrongIfProven

No not always or even usually. But when that is true its more often the bad guy than the good guy than would be the case if guns were illegal. But that aside, no, the threat of death can often prevent someone from even executing the crime, or abandon it midway through once they realize they are up against a gun.

@admitsWrongIfProven guns are killing things.. guns are also preventing things from being killed. The key is understanding the ratio

@admitsWrongIfProven Well sure, some sources might be flawed. But the pattern is so pervasive that there4 comes a point where you stop making excuses and accept that not all the data has excuses one can make for it. In reality we would have to do a more indepth analysis to really prove that, which i dont have time to do here.

@admitsWrongIfProven you will have to re-ask whatever i mistakenly ignored.

System of a Down has some good stuff sure.

@admitsWrongIfProven That wasnt in reference to you.. it was supposed to be a reply to a different thread

@realcaseyrollins

Does having shitty healthcare count? Technically killing off lots of people is smaller government :)

@louisrcouture @hasmis

@mpjgregoire@mamot.fr

Overall, worse

He picked policies that would give short term gains and ultimately play in his favor int hat regard. But largely had devastating long-term effects that were "not his problem"... his tactic of abusing QE to try to keep the economy afloat is a good example of that. While Biden is doing **plenty** to destroy the economy on his own we are also seeing the fallout to some extent from Trumps QE as well.

@louisrcouture @realcaseyrollins

@louisrcouture

Yes we would be a dictatorship ruling with the iron oppressive fist of moderacy.

@realcaseyrollins

@louisrcouture @mpjgregoire@mamot.fr @realcaseyrollins

Tax breaks for the wealthy, sure but he doesnt want to let rich people actually print money... so moderate

environmental regulations - Sure but he still allows there to be an environment, so moderate

rolling back net neutrality - Sure, but he hasnt built a firewall around the country yet... so moderate :)

xenophobia - Sure, but he only wants to kill the brown foreigners that are poor, the rich ones he wants to exploit but let live, so moderate :)

@louisrcouture

There is only one way to have a truely moderate/center society... Me alone on an island :)

@realcaseyrollins

@realcaseyrollins

He started his whole career with being pro-segregation... though at the time that wasnt so extreme as it sounds today. But yea he was way more right early on he just does whatever gets him votes really.

@louisrcouture

@realcaseyrollins

Through the lens of the american political system he is probably as close as you can get to center while being in one of the two major parties.. But do I consider him truely moderate/center... not really.. but it also depends on what is a modeate... Is a moderate someone with opinions on both sides of the aisle? Or is it someone where the majority of their opinion arent from **either** side of the aisle?

@louisrcouture

@louisrcouture

I know, which is why I said you didnt mean the GOP. The GOP is small govt not states rights. Since they arent the same you didnt mean GOP :)

@realcaseyrollins

I dont see them as moderates... I see the GOP as 90%+ plain old right and <10% extreme right.

The left I see as maybe 70% plain old left and 30% extreme left.

The only place moderates exist are outside of the two major parties as either no-party or a 3rd-party.

@louisrcouture

> Republicans are, in theory, about small government.

Haha yes. In theory.

I'm in the #GOP but for the life of me can't find many prominent politicians who are about small government. #Trump and #RonDesantis sure as heck ain't it.

@realcaseyrollins

Yea sadly the parties have been somewhat divorced of their ideals on both sides for a while now.

@louisrcouture

@louisrcouture Not really, you are thinking of Libertarians. Republicans are, in theory, about small government. It is debatable how good they are at getting there, better than the dems, but that isnt hard to do.

@jaysonmassey Well no.. they take an oath and can be impeached if they violate that oath.... so no. The intent and legal framework is such that if they vote contrary to the constitution that they would and should be impeached. They do not get to make up anything they want, there are rules and if they dont follow them they get impeached, or at least there is a mechanism for that.

@pj

You are delusional (no disrespect intended) if you think this or any other place I will be safe from all violent acts.

No I dont have a gun here, and my life is more at risk than if I was allowed one, and had one.
