@AmpBenzScientist What i do is keep a round chambered but i decock the hammer. For the 1911 that means its fairly safe since its SA only

0.22" - For if you are attacked by a squierrel.

9mm - If you are attacked by a human

0.45 ACP - If you are attacked by a human in knight's armor

10mm - If you are attacked by a bear

0.50 BMG - If you are attacked by a bear in knights armor.

Yea I think a lot of it is the gun. Take my judge, a revolver with a 45 colt long caliber, so a bit weaker but similar energy... that one hurts your hand and is quite noticable. the 10mm is barely worse than my lighter 9mm.

Man everyone was so worked up about how much recoil my new 10mm gun was going to have... yea it is obviously more than a 9mm but it was very smooth and handled well. I shot off 100 rounds today and it didnt hurt a bit.

Here is a picture of my new Kimber, and the target after a clip. I was definitely shooting a bit low but the clustering was workable. I was also trying to fire fairly quickly rather than take my time and aim, so I'd say not bad at 10 yards.

While youd be right im at a disadvantage, im at far less of a disadvantage with a gun than without. Sonill take it anyway.

@deegeese Normal people get raped and have violent boyfriends all the time. In fact ive never known a woman who didnt have to deal with it at least once in their life.

Not to mention the tons of incidents i didnt mention of violence where a hand gun coukd save your life.

I guess you can intentionally buy underloaded ammo too. The ammo packaging tends to give muzzle velocities.

@deegeese Because i reported illegal activity to the fbi and the mafia has a death threat on me. Once that i happened i bought guns and started to carry.

Also plenty of other examples, women who have a tendency to be rape victims or with violent exs woukd be another great example to carry.

Im told its similar to the long colt 45, so yea should have some bite to it, but you can get out maybe 50 roubds before your hand will get sore.

Yea photo is of the 9m. But it comes in 9mm, 45 acp and 10mm. I went with 10mm
