@jerry

Calkey the server was super toxic... a rebranding is probably not a bad idea. Lets hope they got that toxicity in check.

If you live in a city, especially I highly recommend you check out Mercato as a delivery service. They focus on delivery from lots of smaller mom and pop stores for groceries (something absent from many delivery apps). Its great they deliver from all the really nice mom and pop stores, including some really high end ones like the Italian Market and Reading Terminal.

I used them for a year before i left for my trip and now that im back im using them again!

@bonifartius Seems there is only one known rotational structure in animals at the macroscopic level... its int he muscles (shell fish) digestive tract.

@bonifartius if we are defining rotational movement as movements that exceed 360 degrees and can make multiple turns... then I cant think of any other ones...

For some reason I was having stability issues on my old Arch Linux install. Now that I've switched back to NixOS everything is running perfectly again!

Interesting fact of the day... single cellular organisms have "Molecular Motors" in them.. basically the quantum mechanical equivalent of a mechanical motor... They are surprisingly similar in appearance and are just super cool!

@andybaio I hooked up with the daughter of the guy who wrote Zork. She was really cool, I wish we stayed in touch.

@JonKramer

I dont have the time right now to read the paper but I bookmarked it to read tomorrow when im more free.

@niclas

@freemo @niclas Not a lot of current papers on the topic, but some papers have reported up to 40% effect by the sun's activity. The problem with this is it looks like that number doesn't take into account the 'solar constant' which has been changing since 1978, when we started to really study that number. THAT number has been FALLING, which would drive massive global cooling. So, unless the human factors are WAY more than measured, that claim is highly doubtful.

@JonKramer

I dont know the exact percentages but it is clear the overwhelming majority of the problem is human-caused... the issue is that it may be non-linear.. the human causes may amplify the effects of the sun and vice versa since a lot of this follows non-linear responses.

But we can speculate all you want, the truth is the rate of chance of our climate is significantly faster than has ever occured in the history of life on this planet... so its clear where the problem lies.

@niclas

@JonKramer

It isnt wrong to say the sun plays a factor... but your a moron if you think the bulk of global warming is caused mostly by the sun.
