@teajaygrey

Yes someone else pointed that out. Seems i misunderstood, understandable considering the language barrier. Given what was really meant this sign seems reasonable to me now.

@georgetakei

@lucifargundam Im sure he has advisors that do.. Im skeptical it was ever intentional.

@rustoleumlove

If what you say is what they meant then I can understand that.

Yes I do agree the other things seem fairly legitimate and it was only this one item that seemed offensive, but as you said maybe i misunderstood.

@georgetakei

@lucifargundam

How would he cashout by doing that? What is this master plan where buying an overpriced company and then crashing its value is somehow in his interest?

@mike805

@mike805

I used to think musk was a smart business man... now i doubt that.

I think rich people like Trump and Musk are more the result of the populace becoming so stupid they cant recognize a faker anymore so its the prime time for morons to rise to the top on a fake reputation alone.

@mike805 Cant imagine how that could be to his advantage with so much money invested.

@shuttersparks there really isnt a huge need to use iron gall unless you really need something specific. For example some papers just work better with it.

that said, like i said iron gall, modern day iron gall, is formulated specifically for FP, they **are** meant for it. There is a guy on youtube that abuse tested this by filling pens with iron gall and letting them dry out then cleaning them. The pens were fine.

In fact they are probably safer for your pen than pigment inks and bulletproof inks.. Once those settle in your pen you will probably have a much harder time cleaning them out. I know when i use a pen with my carbon ink there is a perminant coating that effects future fills and discolors future ink.

@freemo Same here (though I didn't have that many followers). Once in a while someone sends me a DM and then I tell them that now I'm here. Very few of them moved, or even made a foothold here.

I used to check in on twitter once a week or so just to see my notifications and if anyone reached out to me to respond... I have a few thousand followers and would get a few notifications a week so it was worth the effort.

Since musk took over my notifications and declined to a crawl. Now week after week I have consistently no notifications. As a result I check my twitter less and less and even find myself just closing the tab and forgetting about it for long periods.

Im pretty sure im not the only one and twitter is quickly dieing.

My calander tells me the first day of "Hispanic Heritage Month" is september 15th.... umm... thats not ... huh?

@shuttersparks I know of plenty of people who use it, in fact there are rather popular brands of iron gall advertised specifically for FP, so it must be a rather popular choice.

The main reason to use iron gall is it is perminant with good writing characteristics. Since it is safe in a pen with gold nib there is really no reason not to use it honestly.

That said I have since moved over to pigment and carbon based ink. The carbon inks have better writing characteristics i find. The main disadvantage to pigments is that they tend to stain clear demonstrators where iron gall does not.

@shuttersparks I've used iron gall inks in my fountain pens for decades without an issue.. but yes I suspect that could be what caused an issue here simply due to the steel nib, and I think its fair to say with a reactive metal like steel you should be more cautious about the more aggressive inks that would be fine in a FP made with mor passive materials.

Speedballs are nice if you want dip pen. Not particularly helpful for a pen on the go though. Plus I prefer the convience of a FP as I can write anywhere in my home including on the couch or in bed.

Glass dip pens are nice but useless for most forms of calligraphy.

@shuttersparks I can also say the rusting of jinhao pens was a known issue and I was warned against it. So I know it has happened to others.

Keep in mind this may be 5 years ago at this point. Since then they may have improved the corrosion resistance of their nibs.

@shuttersparks

Its very possible I used Iron Gall ink. I used that in most of my fountain pens at the time.

For the record assuming it is the iron gall ink, it has never ruined a single one of my fountain pens other than the jinhao before. It would definately have been the steel nib that made it rust because it is the only steel nib pen i ever used, since then i moved to precious metal nibs only.

@Quenby Of course kids want power.. you are right that power is in the form of autonomy, but that is power,in fact a rather significant form. Without autonomy you are powerless in the most complete of ways.

I think perhaps what you meant to say is "dominance" specifically to have "dominance over the parent" .. i suspect thats what you mean by power and in that sense I agree, kids dont care about power dynamics.

@shuttersparks Do you not have the problem with rusting? When i first got into flex writing i got a jinhao thinking it would save me a fortune. The thing rusted and i couldnt use it after the first use.

@DaveFernig The issues I am describing are fairly limited to the US.

I have been treated in many european and other non-US countries. While the specific form of abuse I describe here is certainly somewhat unique to the USA I can say with confidence all of the medical infrastructure in europe and much of the world is just as bad, just bad in very drastically different ways. But most of those problems are outside the scope of this post.

@davidtoddmccarty

So we can strike against Trump AND Biden... ok im down where do we meet!
