Okj so we are abanoning the racist comment and sticking to his views, thats fine, and even useful, lets do that.
So your claiming he wants desegregation, but just opposes white people being "forced" to take in the blacks in their school?
I mean ok, that doesnt make much sense to me, but if thats what he is saying, can you remind me what solutions he did propose? Because aside from bussing (which is basically a fancy way of saying a person from a black segregated school is allowed to take the bus to a white school)... what other solution is there? I mean busses are the only way they get to school, so, what alternatives is he even talking about then? It makes no sense.
What it sounds like is you took his very racist politicial position, listen to his political nonsense that rteally was saying nothing and you ran with it... like ok he said "I am all for desegregation, I just opposse every law that has been brought up to allow desegregation and proposed no alternatives myself".... okkkkkkkkkk... and how is bussing specifically a racial jungle? What?
On that we mostly agree.. at best your seen as not serious or dont care... at worst your seen as supporting whoever the "other side" is (you are a MAGA to the left and a snowflake to the right)
Actually you are correct. I am sorry, the link itself I pasted the wrong one. Here is the correct link (it was in 1977 he said it, though as you saw from the 1981 link he was still pushing to keep segregation alive even years later, it was the central point of his early career):
To quote the article above:
"Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle"
Which is pretty close to word-for-word with the image posted here.
> yeah. Even those who don't believe in the two party system which I think is most people, know we live in a first past the post system so the reality is it's the dems or it's trump.
Sadly that **is** the people who beleive the two-party system myth... Yea we do live in a first-pass-the-post voting system... but beleiving the myth that this means we are locked into a two-party system, which it doesnt, is where people go wrong. Which is kinda funny because despite being a FPTP voting system we have had third-parties replace one of thw two primary parties 8 times in the history of the US... clearly proving the FPTP voting system does not lock you into a two--party system like the myth suggests after all.
@trinsec In retrospec that would be a better choice... the VR2 went out of its way to make sure you can never use it on a PC.
Wait we are talking about two things... 1) what did he say (which is the only thing the fact check article seems to disagree with)... and 2) if we agree about the interpritation about segregation. Lets address each seperately.
> There seems to be some controversy about this article.
The fact-check article linked in another comment states:
>
> Based on our research, the post is PARTLY FALSE. It contains two claims, one true and one false. It's true that Biden said mandatory busing to integrate schools would lead to his children growing up in a "racial jungle." It's false that he said, "I don't want my children to grow up in a jungle, a racial jungle."
Except he did say that, or rather, a quote that is almost identical.
As I recently posted, here is what he actually said, vs what the article said...
What he said (and i proved): "Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle"
What the article claims he said: "I don't want my children to grow up in a jungle, a racial jungle"
Now ask yourself, do you think it is honest of the article to just say "he didnt say that" and label it as false? Or do you think its misleading not to mention that the quote just was worded very slightly off, and they should have shared the real quote and basically labeled it as true but having a typo? Here is the link tot he transcript:
> From those 2 links alone you can determine that Biden is against integration via busing. But he hasn't claimed to be against integration with other means with the resources given.
What other means or resources are you talking about? Buses are literally the sole way kids get to school aside from mothers driving them, which oddly enough would also have not been allowed due to the same reason as the bussing.
The way it works in the USA is schools have regions and kids in that region will get bussed to school. What was proposed at the time is mixing the regions, half the kids from the black school in the black district during segregation are permitted to go to the white school and vice versa, the districts are combined.
The only other way to integrate a black child to a white school, other than letting them attend the school by overlapping the districts (what we talk about when we saying bussing) is to physically move where they live....
Also lets not forget, this is hardly his only racist position, nor was this hearing a single fleeting moment.
> Jeffrey, you posted a Qt of a picture that says one thing, and @kryptec posted a fact check debunk of the quote on that picture. Are you saying the fact check is wrong?
I am saying the fact check is misleading. While it is true the quote on the picture is not, word-for-word accurate to the quote he actually made. But it is effectively the same thing.
What he said (and i proved): "Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle"
What the article claims he said: "I don't want my children to grow up in a jungle, a racial jungle"
Those are effectively the exact same thing.
So yes not only is the fact check wrong (or rather, intentionally manipulative), but the original post and its quote is, so close to the actual quote, itseffectively the same.
> However, the claim that Biden said "I don't want my children to grow up in a jungle, a racial jungle" is false. There is no evidence Biden made that particular remark.
As per the above the fact check was lying. Here is the link to the 1981 transcript of his congressional testimony when the above quote was uttered as proof:
Sure, but you need to be specific about what it is you want a transcript of.. Just recently I shared the transcript post of his "Racial Jungle" comment. You can find it here:
This was basically a hearing where he defended his pro-segregation position of opposing the desegregation that was developing in the senate at the time.
I think thats mostly true... That said I find even those far on the left who dont like him, still vote for him as they buy into the myth of the two party system. Moreover they often assume when you criticize Biden that automatically means you are a Trumper unless you clearly announce your pro-communism views to make sure they know your not.
It really amazes me how many people on the left actually think Biden's extremely racist history as a politician during the start of his career was "debunked" and all "lies".... they believe this despite the fact that he actively faught to keep segregation alive int he senate. His words are publicly recorded, certified, and verified for all to see. His racist comments are a matter of public record, undeniable.... yet almost every single time I post an actual racist quote atleast a few from the left claim it isnt real, or it was debunked.
In fact, even when I post links to the word-for-word transcript clearly showing biden saying very racist things... STILL, I get responses from the left screaming at me for spreading "misinformation". Despite the proof right there in the same breath... They literally are so enraged I dare to share this clearly proven misinformation they will call me names sure... but more importantly they make sure they are very quick to block just so I dont have the chance to point out the very clear evidence right in front of their faces....
Its sad. Literally quoting Biden **with** context is enough to enrage the left and get blocked. Its funny how they can block you for quoting biden yet somehow be ok with biden.
inb4: Yes Trumpeters do this too... and yes I dont like them anymore for it than the left. Do not assume just cause the left are pieces of shit that I give the right a pass. As far as Im concerned the left and the right are on the same moral high ground as far as this goes.
by the way, aside from your own link that proves the post I boosted was accurate, here is the actual first-hand source.
In 1981 desegregation was under way through an effort to bus black students in all-black schools to segregated white-schools so they can desegregate them and allow the blacks to get the same quality education as these better funded schools could provide.
He spent most of his early career trying to fight these and really all desegregation efforts still ongoing at the time. In fact, he was one of the most vocal segregationists in congress at the time.
Here is a 1982 Senate hearing in which Biden's testimony is recorded. Not only does he make it clear he opposes these desegregation efforts, but it is also the first time he used the "racial jungle" quote in some form and very clearly confirms that a very similar variation of the quote has been spoken by Biden as early as 1982.

> not accurate / the most alive - you have got to be joking or a full blown troll
What about posting an actual fact checked article about Biden's past racism is "not accurate" and "have got to be joking"? Someone even fact checked it with a link claiming the content of the article was accurate.
> And people DO change. Do you think Jim Clybourn thinks he is a racist? Really
They sure do... Usually people who change after being a horrible and racist human, they start by, I dunno, apologizing. Sadly he has never apologized for his horrificially racist past, not once, let alone the sort of heart felt apology that would be needed to even consider he has changed. Worst yet, his actions still strongly show he is as racist as ever but now instead of treying to push for segregation (which would never work) instead he exploits minorities to try get himself elected and in a position of power.
Yes people change, sadly, Biden has not give any of the traditional indications he has changed. If anything he has shown quite clearly he remains a racist twat.
> You are a dishonest sack of diahrea
Thanks, taking a fact-checked article calling out racism and very quickly showering me with personal insults, calling me a liar, making no attempt to actual show any evidence, and then blocking me before you have a chance to hear any rebutal.... really screams you have the fact-based position here....

It was not debunked (because it is true).. yes it was easily checked before amplifying, and was checked and found to be true before sharing.
To quote your article you just shared:
"the content in the article isn’t misleading."
Literally the fact check you **just** shared confirmed that the post here is true, and correct, and not misleading.
Thanks for confirming this was fact checked before posting and correct. Much appreciated!

Im a bit confused as to what your suggesting, and before I formed an opinion I wanted some clarity.
So are you suggesting to leave out the step by step instructions because you want them to solve the problem on themselves and figure it out with less instruction so they learn more through trial and error?
Or are you suggesting pippette skills and similar skills, since they wont be needed in 10 years, should be skipped entierly, and you are suggesting this because the other skills are important, so more time should be focused on those?
That seems like a reasonable response to facts about racism regarding someone you voted for... plug your ears, cover your eyes, pretend you didnt hear it.. how else can you live with promoting a racist....
Just a reminder. Biden started is wntire career with one purpose in mind... keeping segregation alive. I will never vote for the most racist politician alive today... never.
