@LouisIngenthron its also could be easily solved if designed with the proper care (a system which does not openly let you see what a person is prescribed but will automatically block a pharmacy from filling the same prescription multiple times, even across different pharmacsy)..
@LouisIngenthron Thats not a problem your doctor should be trying to solve.
@LouisIngenthron Which is NOT the place of a doctor... hell he shouldnt even have the right to tell you what you can put in your own body.. bodily autonomy is a sacred right.
@LouisIngenthron Yes but you dont have to take away my right to privacy to do that... just make it so I an opt-out and choose for myself.
There is literally only a **single** state in the USA where you still control autonomy over your own medical records (prescription drug list) and that is MO!
That means if you are in any other state and ever had a prescription doctors can find out what it was and who prescribed it. That means doctors can find your past doctors without your approval.
The scary part? You also have no control over your medical records. So your PCP can now legally look this up and contact all your past doctors for medical records and you cant do anything about it, you cant legally stop them, you cant purge your records, you cant purge your prescription list.
This is very scary for anyone who has been abused at the hand of a past doctor and moves.. If they have put any negative information about you that might make future doctors hostile towards you or not want you as a patient... there is nothing you can do... that is so scary...

@bluGill Not if you tip them more for being slower!
As a general principle on that I agree. If something seems like genuinely suspicious activity, even if you arent sure, then yea, by all means report it.
All I'm saying is someone being off topic a bit in their reply shouldnt be anything setting off red flags in most cases... thats my only point. Its hardly rude or suspicious for a conversation to expand into new areas, nor should it be discouraged.
I think that is great, and you as a moderator having that style and welcoming it is good... If someone knows you want that, and that you are responsible enough to not take a report as a sign of suspicion (without research) then yea I think thats a great policy.
But i dont think that reflects the mentality of other servers... The vast majority of server moderators would not see a reply that is off topic as anything that even hints at trolling.
We are here to encourage conversation, not make people scared to talk politely... I would be quite worried about being a part of any server that is going to investigate me simply because i made a comment that deviated past the subject of the original post in some way... having users living in fear of such a minor misstep or trying to control their behavior in a way that discourages that is unhealthy.
Coulda swore I made this post already.. but it appears my post was not a reply and i made it as a top level post accidentally. Anyway here it is again:
If you are the moderator you can delete them off of your server specifically if you wish...
But you realize someone going to your post from another server will still see it... it will only disapear for the users who are viewing it from your server itself (since youve deleted it only from your local server).
I know you have good intentions, so I hope you dont take this the wrong way but.... I'd have to say that you are a bad actor here.
Making non-sequitor comments, unless it is suspicious of spam in some way, is not something any moderator should care about, or have their time wasted.
As a moderator myself I can say that report spam is not generally welcome where people report others for non-nonsensical reasons like this. It is in no way something that is actionable and wastes times. Also many moderators simply block when they get enough reports since they cant handle the volume and this can lead to a lot of blocks that are completely unjustified and abusive.
Its very specific to the circumstances... If someone posts about the super bowl and then someone makes a comment about snow tires that seems completely unrelated to the OP with a link to a snow tire store, then yea, thats suspicious...
But if someone makes a comment about something that seems somewhat tangential but has some reasoning as to why the OP post might have spurred the tangential conversation, then no, you would be the bad actor to make this report. When I reply to something I am posting to **my** server, not yours, reporting me because I made a post on my own server about your post because it isnt "on topic" enough is just toxic behavior.
If you want a free services that is well moderated, you have to remember moderators arent paid.. when you waste our time with reports on non-sense you make the network unmanagable.. this isnt good for the server or our communities.
Thats fair then, if your only concern here is bots, and the post seems like it might be spam, and not just "off topic".. and you bother to ask them "hey are you a person"... and all that, then i think reporting for spam is fine, and a good thing (id do the same).
My issue was it sounded like you'd report an account simply for making a non sequitur comment in and of itself... That seemed wrong.
I was pretty commited to making LibreWolf work when I switched to it... but yea there is no amount of getting use to this... i just have way way too many tabs I need.

@freemo I don't know what definition they're using, but where you want to look is here: https://vfrmap.com/
It's a map of airspace, cobbled together from the maps regularly published by the FAA. You'll see a magenta line labeled "CONTIGUOUS U.S. ADIZ". That's the one that matters.
My best guess is that IFR (instrument-based) flights that file a domestic flight plan and remain tracked the entire way through can skip going through customs but VFR (visual-flight) are not tracked the whole way and would thus be subject to customs.
Keeping mind I know nothing about nothing on this topic... attached map of where international waters start would suggest the gulf of mexico is not considered internation airspace (assuming its defined the same as international waters)

@kilroy_was_here Yea me too.. at this point I feel like rejecting the delivery at the door is the best answer... because that way instead of **me** paying by needing to pick it up myself, UberEats pays for their incompetance by doing all the work and getting no money if they mess up... this feels much more in line with "justice" :)
@freemo It is essentially unregulated, but there are international conventions pilots follow to prevent accidents and such.
The real bitch of it is, though, that if you go even a little bit out over international waters, then when you get back, you're required to go through customs.
@LouisIngenthron Oh really... so say a flight from miami to the southern tip of texas, if it took a straight trip over the gulf of mexico, it would have to go through customs despite being within the USA?
@kilroy_was_here Im too damn lazy for that... but yea i funno what it is but post COVID the quality control on delivery plummeted and i very rarely get a delivery that is complete.
It seems almost intentional (and ive had managers I know tell me it is) where if they dont have something its easier to just not include it then to take the time to call and ask, because most people are too lazy to complain... and when someone actually does complain its so often that they side with the resteraunt... so they have no motivation tog et it right.
