They think they are doing a public service. They arent really anti-rich usually or anything like that. But they do think they are making america a better place by doing a necessary service.

There are many reasons. One of them is just that its hard to see little things adding up. Its a common mistake, you go food shopping and get a bunch of things that are 3.99 and seem shocked the bill is 300$.

We are a company that has a product thatis very math heavy (or at least will once we release it). So there is a need for a lot of math. Sadly that means latex if you also want to be text-based (as in can use git on it to diff) and open-source, which are also important things.

Look we started out pretty respectful, and both of us are going off the wrong end here.... lets take a step back. I got no issue with you, obviously there was a miscommunication, its not a big deal, now its clarified so regardless of what you wanted me to mean or what you thought I meant we both know what we meant to say now, no big deal.

@Gbudd So the latext requirement is a bit looser than that.. its something like this:

"Must be expiernced in either markdown or latext and willing to learn latex and use it on a daily basis"

So we are ok if they just know markdown but if thats the case they still need to be eager learners.

And I agree most latex noobs are very unpleasant to work with. I myself am not a latext expert. I mostly know how to get around well enough for a little above a basic level. Most of the fancy stuff I've done has just been integrating stuff from online snippets or libraries.
