Pro tip. Give your midlevel male programmers the title of Seniór Developer, abbreviated Sr. Dev. They will think its a promotion and work harder.

@berkes

All but the last point are valid but purely aesthetic.

The last poi t about overriding is valid, though i doubt there is much need to override, there may be some edge cases.

Lets face it this is python, they gave up on aesthetics a long time ago.

The growth equation is a bit different day one. For our current game plan we would expect about a 10x increase in valuation within the first year. Even someone who joins 9 months in wont see that sort of growth.

While we do try to have a familial relationship here and look after eachother i dont think anyone is fooling themselves into think we are a family in the real sense. People will get fired if they truely deserve it and we are still out to make money, ethically at least.

For those who took less salary for a boost in equity they will get raises. For those who took a normal salary for less equity will get a little extra equity. Both occur after our next round of funding.

@jenny_wu

@niclas

Equity should always vest over time (be earned) but it shouldnt replace salary. For my guys they must stay with the company for 2 years before their equity vests.

If you want a more immediate incentive alignment, give existing employees a small pay raise 6 months after a new employee is on boarded. That way everybody wants to make sure the new employee is trained properly.

I’ve seen so many businesses where the boss man says “this is our new team member, clap clap clap welcome” and then everybody watches her fail. I’ve been on both sides of the equation, there.

@jenny_wu

Not sure infollow. Why would a team want a new employee to fail? Do they see the new employee as taking away their potential raise money?

Raises for anyone who took a cut for extra early equity will certainly happen. As for those already paid fairly they will likely get more equity.

As I hire for our new company I find myself insisting everyone get some stock who comes on bord, including the lower skilled people.

Im my eyes its not just the right thing to do, its good business. When employees own part of the company they tend to lookout for the company interests more.

@admitsWrongIfProven Happy to, thanks.

Also, I prefer not to call it disagreeing. Lets just say there are times where I am right, and you are wrong :)

@admitsWrongIfProven

No one can see it anymore.. basically he called someone a nazi for wanting free speech, I told them off and said it wasnt a good attitude for QOTO but didnt intend to act. then he basically told me to fuck myself (not in so many words) and then tried to insult me thinking /I was dutch (im not) which then made it racist.

Not sure what your talking about, this is the first time your participating in this thread and as far as I know no one has said anything to you.

To be fair IMO all collections should have a common parent class, this would have all the common stuff like map, filter, getting the iterator, etc. I do agree with berkes that doing it as a method would look nicer and feel nicer.

That said, I cant think of any situation where it makes any sort of functional difference.

@berkes

@berkes on an iterator or on an interatable collection?

Regardless functionally how is there any meaningful difference?
