Huh? The majority of school shooters dont use AR-15, likely for this reaason. Moreover most school shooters have never owned a gun before (by virtue of the fact of being a kid) so they arent picking guns because they are the most effective at killing, they are picking them because they are the only one they can get their hands on (and small-game guns are the most common in the usa due to being the most affordable)

@zeitverschreib

@stux You have to see the harm.. you just suggested a method of effectively torturing people to death instead of using gas simply because gas is associated with nazis, you completely abandoned suffering as a top concern because you followed the logic of "Hitler liked birthday cake so birthday cake is bad" (just the more emotional variant of that argument).

@zeitverschreib

Most AR-15 in the USA are used for small game, it isnt even powerful enough or suited for large game. Frankly, its just far too weak of a rife to be the best choice here, you'd want somethign more powerful to be humane.

@stux

@stux

> I'm sure a toxic cocktail or pills or whatever must be a much humane method but not gass

What? No, thats a horrible way to die. It takes hours, you get sick, you throw up, you have time to feel the effects... god that sounds like torture.

Nothing personal but this is why toxic identity politics is so bad... caring more about associations and how something looks to the point of torturing people to kill them rather than the humane way to do it simply cause "the nazis did it that way" is just, self destructive way to reason about the world.

No no no, please, dont use that logic ever again im begging you.

@stux

Well we certainly agree that execution is bad,..

But how is gas worse simply for being a "nazi thing"... wouldnt using another method where people suffer more but its not a "nazi thing" be far worse? Like are we really prioritizing morality by association over actual morality based on suffering?

@stux

Is your objection to execution by gas, or execution at all?

I agree that the death penalty is wrong. But if you are going to have the death penalty gas is probably the most humane way to do it.

@mjambon Thats why I created the poll. I had a theory that each side would have exactly the same ratio of people who thought their candidate would win... and I was right :)

@freemo it's funny that on either side, two-thirds think their favorite will win.

@Gbudd why does it matter if you wound up voting for the guy who got 60% 40% or 5% as long as it was the right person?

@Gbudd What im gettign at is that while the system keeps 2 main parties,it doesnt dictate who those 2 main parties are. In the course of history in america a main party has bee replaced with a third party (and once that happens the old party never becomes a main party again) 8 times. In all examples the third party had <5% support the previous year jumping to majority support the next.

So by all means accept that 2 parties are likely to win. But also accept that who those two parties are can readily switch on a dime. So the logic fails that you know which 2 parties you should vote for. And logic dictates when you have to monumentally unqualified and racist candidates as your 2 party choices that this year, and the next few elections to come stand a very good chance of flipping who those parties are.

@Gbudd The only reason you have those two choices is because everyone in unison says what you say. Like somehow everyone recognizes there are 2 evils and then a bunch of not 2 evils, but we all agree those 2 evils are our only choice cause everyone else thinks it.

Its idiotic and just a shared delusion (not calling you an idiot, just the idea)

@SirBemrose

> The difference, of course, is that one side has mountains of evidence (that you'd never see if you only watch corporate media), and the other side has the fraudulent Steele Dossier. But hey, keep thinking they're somehow equivalent if it makes your feel better.

QED This is pretty much word for word what the left says too. I feel like if you were in a room with a leftie you two would just be completing each others sentences.

@SirBemrose

I love how the crazies on the right sound exactly like the crazies on the left at this point. The left is on about their russian conspiracy and how it stole the election in Trumps favor, meanwhile the right has their own crazy conspiracy QAnon theory that the election was stolen for Biden.

It is almost indistinguishable at this point.

@volkris @mk

@mk

The answer to this is important: Trump's unforced choices as to how he conducted himself turned off so much of the public that they'd rather vote for the senile and dim witted person heading the dystopian nightmare you described above.

The worse terms one uses to describe the worse that reflects on .

Describe Biden as bad as you'd like. It just means Trump's political strategy still managed to face losing to THAT again.

You can namecall voters all you want, but it doesn't change that reality.

@freemo

Who do you think will win the presidential election, and who do you WANT to win?
