I also just checked and this seems to have monumentally damaged the use count on the server.
I dont know exactly when this was enacted but in recent months the user count for the server plummeted from 80K to 20K and has month by month been continually decreasing since then as people flock away from the server. I suspect the use of this extremely abusive block list, and perhaps similar decisions are a large part of the reason.

very disappointed in their lack of due diligence.
It would be pretty idiotic to reject someone based on this.
That said I do agree that very detailed medical records, anonymized, should be attached to all blood. This would save lives by allowing people to reject blood selectively so they can still get treated, its better than letting those people die.

I was under the impression, maybe incorrectly, that the USA has put sanctions on Russia such that going there and interviewing Putin is being treated as illegal and he is risking jail time.

Irrelevant. I mean yea tucker is a piece of shit, and he is exactly the sort of piece of shit Putin would want to interview him.
But anyone who goes and interviews someone and the USA says that person isnt allowed to be interviewed, then the journalist will absolutely get my support for that act.
The only way anyone could fault Tucker for this move is if it werent illegal. Then you can argue he did nothing note worthy as a journalist, didnt risk anything, so all he did at that point was propaganda for an asshat.
But yea the very act of the USA making it illegal puts Tucker in the right.

@LouisIngenthron No doubt it is a real effect, but easily managed in the wild. Any field that effect it are going to more or less within hands reach plus a little extra . So while its totally true it might be effected by an electronic device fairly close to it, or a large chunk of metal, anything even moderately far away (such as a deposit of metal a dozen feet under the earth) isnt likely to have much of an effect.

As a scuba diver I can speak on underwater navigation a lot and have tested a lot of systems that approach it in different ways... Not sure of any gravimetric based systems though, doesnt mean they dont exist I just cant speak on that specifically.
"Officer safety" a phrase you will often hear from a police officer shortly before he starts beating you and violating your rights.
@robryk you would need a map of the magnetic fields, a high accurate sensor, and you'd not even approach GPS level accuracy.. but its doable in theory yea.

Mechanical compasses of that sort are more complicated, at least because you need a vertical reference and a gimbal with 2 degrees of freedom.

BTW I wonder how many sports trackers use the magnetic field to simplify their motion tracking, and then work very differently sufficiently far north or sufficiently close to the equator. (E.g. for breaststroke in swimming pools oriented east-west in Switzerland keeping a running average of the magnetic field direction at wrist is a more reliable way of counting lengths than what Garmin was doing up until something like 1-2 years ago)
