@Extelec No the reaction cant be sustained. IT takes more energy to dissociate the water then you get back from the flame. So it ultimately cools the object and onc eit drops below 2200 the flames will stop.

@SteelFolk The specific color would depend on the metal to some degree, but yea it would look yellowish-red for sure for steel at least.

So apparently Biden is Putin's choice for president over Trump...

> "For us, who's better, Biden or Trump?" Russian TV correspondent Pavel Zarubin asked President Putin.
>
> "Biden," Vladimir Putin replied in a flash. "He's more experienced, he's predictable, he's an old-style politician."

Interesting fact of the day. Water will "catch fire" when used on anything over about 2,200 C.

You can observe this if you take red hot metal and dip it in water, you will see flames produced and even explosions.

The reason is because at those temperatures the water disassociates and hydrogen and oxygen is produced that then reignites turning back into water and producing flame.

In fact particularly hot fires can not be extinguished with water as the water will convert into hydrogen so quickly it will literally just cause an explosion.

I wonder if all animals on earth became significantly cuter in response to the existance of humans or not? I mean it makes sense if we are eating the ugly ones more.

It definitely seems from artistis depictions (which are likely wildly inaccurate) to be the case... but who knows.

@stux Is it malicious attempt or just spammers hijacking the servers? Not really sure whats going on here.

Thanks for the info though.

My unemployment claim (filed early December 2023) was approved today. Make sure you have three months' worth of savings!

@Troggie I encourage my employees to challenge me, I think its the only way we improve.

That said if we debate how something should be done, and dont reach an agreement, as the boss I do have the right to make a final decision, and as an employee one should either quit or do it at that point. But a good boss will never be mad at being questioned.

@AncientGood it's almost like it doesn't even matter that their a CEO, they have the same spectrum of shitbess as any other human if that's how we describe it.

@freemo I just love slowly pouring oil into fire, when I see MAGAist, I try to find good deeds of Biden, when person is Bidenaught, I try to find what Trump did good. Maybe not really ethical, but hey, this is Internet

Mostly because politic doesn't make sense for me.. like, for any CEO position any company gonna require couple universities, 100 years of experience, whole hand in other words, yet for President position all need is to be septuagenarian at least, and yell the loudest on TV? no resource management degree, no even economical college, no neither math nor statistics, no such idiocy. I feel like ~30-50 years ago a glitch happened in our simulation, the last chance we have is as humanity plea to Gods, I mean Admins*, they should read logs anyway, to save every sentient being in this universe on disk and restart simulation. I think it was buffer overflow and now total humanity IQ stays constant yet population grows exponentially

* there is a theory that this simulation super-duper-computer actually runs by Mormons

@AncientGood

Is it unethical, sounds like they are being the unethical ones by allowing themselves to be triggered and become offensive over a matter of opinions.

I've known quite a few really good CEOs who are high school drop outs.

I know I'm doing something right when virtually every single MAGA supporter and extreme leftie hates you and thinks you are the other side of the two.

The day democrats or Republicans start thinking I make sense is the day I need to seriously rethinking my opinions.

@admitsWrongIfProven Well thats kinda my point. The ones who deserve your time tend to get it without asking from people who see their worth. So they dont have as much of a need to ask for your time because they arent socially deprived of quality interactions.

@admitsWrongIfProven Typically its the people with the least value who want the most of your time. The reason is because they cant get anyone elses time so when they can **force** your time out of you they will, its the only way anyone will give them any time.

@admitsWrongIfProven Ahh ok.. I mean, I dont think i have anything against him. PRetty sure I blocked him for wasting my time over some conspiracy theory nonsense with vaccines or something when he wouldnt disengage.

@admitsWrongIfProven I dont mind you asking.. im kinda curious what is going on that prompted you to ask is all.
