@Pat You could argue tthat about flu and other common diseases... there are always a rare few people who will be at high risk.

But again my question is, knowing what you said to be true, what is your end game here.. is the proposal that no 2 humans should ever interact again without a resperator? If the risk is so dire that means even sleeping with one if your married... is that the end game?

@Pat I think we can agree at this point covid is here to stay forever... so whats the game plan for you personally, just wear a resperator for the rest of your life anything you interact with someone?

A few reasons Iknow that isnt hte case.. For starters, out policy on defederation has been the same for five years. Second, Gargron knew about our policy and has outright defended it over the course of those five years. So clearly that cant be the reason. Even if it was our reason for not defederating was to protect the lives of our LGBTQ community, so if that were the reason it would still be damnable imo.

@floppy Have you seen/noticed that i changed the title from the original to be more sincere to the situation. I admit the original title was indeed a bit misleading.

@hbw circles is a feature only availible on QOTO but it works when specifying an audience that is not on QOTO.

@hbw its just an audience you wish to share your toots with.. you define a circle then when you toot you canspecify it as a privacy option and only they see it.

It is rather easy to solve really, he could shut down any official lists or instances and encourage people to migrate to alternatives... but i doubt he would do that.

There are several alternative directories and lists.. the problem is that gargron maintains an "official" one and thus his list will represent the bulk of the traffic.

The only way you could reach a solution where alternative lists are viable is if he decides to take down his official directory entierly.
