If anyone ever asks me something or wants a reply and doesnt get one (as often happens) feel free to nag me after 24 hours, I do try to answer anything anyone wants a reply on.,

@ceoln

My plan is mostly to document it and hope the public visible causes people to consider their actions fully.

@MilkJugArmadillo @realcaseyrollins

I added an extra server to the cloud. This should speed up our services, in particular gitlab and discourse were using up too much cpu, but now they are fine. Those services should run much smoother now.

@freemo @MilkJugArmadillo @realcaseyrollins

Perhaps he misspoke, or was misinformed.

I live with the hope this situation might be resolved to general contentment. :)

@ceoln

he had ample oppertunities to say so and during the whole thing he refused to engage in a conversation.

@MilkJugArmadillo @realcaseyrollins

@chris ok try it now.. i literally just added another server and rebalanced.. one of my services needed more cpu than i was giving it

@chris im on the servers tinkering now... I may have done something, let me look

@chris what is nice about my configuration is that the SSL reverse proxy automatically reconfigures itself.

It works like this, when you bring up a container you use docker command to add labels to your container.. you put two labels.. one indicates the domain name you want to direct into this container (the point of a reverse proxy usually) and the port that exposes the raw http server the comtainer provides... thats all you need.. the reverse proxy stting in the swarm will automatically scan and find the labels and then reconfigure its reverse proxy to point incoming traffic to it. It will also automatically obtain a letsencrypt ssl certificate and use this ont he reverse proxy... then when your container comes down it likewise reconfigures.

If you want to use it I open-source it:

git.qoto.org/modjular/swarm-pr

@chris All of the QOTO services are on docker swarm, though a lot of what i have going works with glue i wrote myself that adds automatic reverse proxy and ssl to the containers you bring up, super helpful.

@chris

See here:

dockerswarm.rocks/

Specifically the part that says:

> Whenever you read here "Docker Swarm" we are actually talking about "Docker Swarm mode".
>
> Not the deprecated product called "Docker Swarm".

@chris swarm is not obsolete and never was going to be... there was some confusion as an old version of swarm was going to be replaced with a new, but otherwise swarm was never made obsolete and is actively developed and plans to be continued

@Gargron

To expose Eiugen on yet another lie... here is a link to all the changes that occured to our ToC over the last 6 months. As can clearly be seen the only changes made were stronger protections for the LGBTQ and a removal of the phrase "free speech".

web.archive.org/web/diff/20220

Which means the only perceived changes he could mean are either greater protections to LGBTQ groups or he is caving tto the misinformation spread by snow.

I already cover the emails (which were sent only to admins with email addresses that welcomed administrative contact). They servered the purpose of alerting them as to Snow's disinformation and an attempt to set the record straight.

jeffreyfreeman.me/eugen-rochko

Seems quite clear, even by Eugen's own admission that what I said in the above post is completely factual afterall.

@realcaseyrollins @serenebabe @ceoln

@louis I appreciate your support though... The best way you can help is try to get it in front of as many admins as possible to counteract the misinformation spreading like wild fire.

@chris docker swarm, which uses compose is the best imo... many prefer kubernetes but i dont

@louis if that wqere the case he wouldnt be lying about the situation when he speaks about it publicly (like lying about the fact that our moderation policies changed when it didnt)

@nibble4bits

yea the cors issue he mentions is already fixed in our code and will be released soon.

@Tibor @herid

@Vivernu

Yea unisex bathrooms are the norm in tons of places and its really not an issue. Its not like there is anything to see in a womans bathrooms, the stalls are rather secure. IF anyone is actually concerned just make your stalls sealed all around with a proper door, its an easy problem to fix.
