I think this looks visually appealing though logically it breaks my brain on two points...
one.. capitalizing "of" but not "instances" seems weird
two.. the UFO part makes me think of aliens... maybe thats not a bad trhing though... you should add it to the issue on the gitlab where we are collecting logos so it can be including in the vote later

@stemid ill get back to you when i have a chance but I am **not** the prerson to ask as we have abusively large databases and data requirements.
Its the result of us being one othe largest instances over most of the history of the Fedi, we keep all data, which means almost every post that has ever existed in the fedi is cached here.
@m1k3 That is fitting, and in the general sense I like it... The main issue I think would be it wouldnt scale down very well. One reason I picked a simple logo is taht it is easily distinguishable down to 32x32

@karlo Its the percentage of users in the fediverse on instances int he UFoI.. ~200K members out of 8 million int he fediverse (though ive heard estimates as low as 4 million)

@stemid Yea, I beleive our minimum rules wont violate local laws since any rules applicable to local laws are welcome to be added on top for the individual instance.
so yes if your interested you are fully compatible. Have you decided if you want to be added yet (keep in mind ill be launching this weekend so the window for easy entry wont be around too much longer).

Obviously if you think it wont be around, dont bother.. but remember if your unsure it is no commitment, you can always leave the UFoI if you decide to take down the server.

Personally I'm happy wth the current logo for launch. That said my plan was once a bunch of logos are in and once we have the voting infrastructure up then we will vote to see what logo the community likes best. Seems a nice safe thing to test voting on.

I dividuals outside the ufoi instances but members wouldnt get a vote. They simply pledge to the rules personally... its debatable if we want to support it at all but i figured it might be a way to gain more momentun and spread the word.
