@Ryle

The people that unfollowed left the UFOI entierly, had nothing to do with the group tag as far as I know.

@ufoi

@thatonecalculator We will happily remove you.. but what rules do you feel protect bad-actor instances, if any such rule exists we would immediately change such rules, that is not in the interest of the UFoI... can you bemore specific, as a member of the UFoI YOU get to define those rules.

@Ryle

the problem is people will probably useit out of context to attack us anyway since the clarification is burried somewhere else.

that said ill let the community chime in and ultimately ill go with the majority on this.

@ufoi

@Ryle

Having rules that were too simple is originally what got us in a ton of trouble with the community.. they felt the terms werent well defined and therefore didnt provide much protection

@ufoi

Fediblock

@joaopinheiro

They have now been removed fromt he UFoI in light of this report (im not sure if im blocked so you may want the rest of this thread to know).

@human_dude

@SamuelBepis

All of those examples are explicitly against the rules and we explicitly state as such.

@Darkayne

@lxo by that logic if you wear full hazmat gear, including at home youd spread even less disease and save even more lives. People draw a line where it becones an unhealthy trade off (hypochondria).

For me that line is wearing half hazmat gear (just a mask), for you its wearing the full suit. We can reasonably protect the vulnerable by wearing masks in old people homes and in high risk enounters.

@caujka The energy is coming from the case of the computer where some of the power is being transmitted through capacitive coupling or similar.. you are acting as a path to ground and thus allowing enough energy to flow for the glow.

I am fairly confident this wouldnt work if you werent touching the led or yourself to the computer.

@trinsec

Thats my thinking, its a no risk proposition, get involved, try to use that to push the project int he right direction, if it seems to not go as planned jump ship.

@yisraeldov

The first point is easily addressed by simply silencing any servers that post MSFW, you are free to silence, just not defederate. But that would have to be a compromise on your part youd be willing to make.

As for hate speech.. yea if you allow hate speech or otherwise have no provisions in your rules against hate speech as we define it, then it wouldnt be compatible.

@pwinn @louis

@lxo Thankfully young children are pretty resistant to covid and they are very low risk.

That said there are plenty of peple int he world with compromised immune systems who would die from a cold, the flu, or even covid and tons of other diseases... Their situation is extremely unfortunate. But I dont think its reasonable to expect an entire world to live their life wearing hazmat balanced on the risks.

Can you describe who these people are and what they are famous for?

(click each one that you know)

@abhijith

Fair concerns... as a democratic entity the best way to ensure that doesnt happen is to encourage good-actors to join, especially early on. If good actors boycott it you could very well get a beast

That said because the bylaws have a 2/3rd vote to change them as long as we can get good bylaws as a starting point, with good actors, it should be hard to change for the worse, I hope.

> Close. The argument was that the cultural animosity from the practice of slavery was both justified and insurmountable. Which is the 18th century version of your allowed statement that black people commit more murders because they are discriminated against (which, is incredibly dehumanizing even if we don't look at the historical versions of that argument).

I said nothing of the sort.

I **never** said they commit more murders. I said they are discriminated against and arrested unfairly... this suggests they did **not** commit the mureders but were only arrested on it due to discrimination.

If you think pointing out that cops arrest blacks without cause and accuse tthem of murders dispreportionatly is wrong to point out, then I dont want to be right.

> Between this and your assertions that the LGBTQ is somehow destroying their own communities and credibility by not being tolerant enough, I'm tapping out. Nothing productive will come from further discussion between us.

You really went in looking for a fight arent you. What I said is that Nazis are manipulating the LGBTQ to force them into responding in a way that hurts their own community.. a bit of a difference there dont you think?

@doot

@probgoblin

Wait what.. jefferson used the argument that blacks are arrested unfairly due to racism as an argument to perpetuate slavery, and thus we shouldnt point out the fact that blacks are arrested dispreportionately due to racism?

huh....

@doot

@probgoblin

Saying blacks are unfairly targeted and arrested is an argument for an ethnostate? How so?
