That wouldnt change anything.. ethnicity is just the noun form of ethnic, it still refers to culture not race.
@davew yea not the same.
@davew there are whole instances devoted to journalists.. not specific to any one publication though... thats similar I guess?
It would seem its common among muslims as well.. I have often seen muslims as being referred to as an ethnic group as well.
@ligthert wikipedia is a great source.. its just that like any source you need to review its citations to determine what weight to give it.
@EubieDrew absolutely... feel free to submit a merge request on the site or suggest where you think it might be best to state that.
@EubieDrew Correct, in fact we designed provisions explicitly to ensure that is the case... this is why we strictly state that members outside of the UFoI will not be treated with any negative reprocusions for not joining. It is structured only so there are positive advantages to joining, namely, garunteed federation for good actors.

My understanding of "Semetic" is that it includes anyone who speaks a semetic language. So your ethnicity probably has little to do with it.
Ryle had a heart attack.
People being sent death threats... DDoS on UFoI members, one LGBTQ server in good standing was blocked by 33 other instances for supporting us openly.... Yet they insist there is no problem that needs addressing, to the point they violently oppose an agreement between server admins to engage in transparency, ethics, and evidence in interinstance moderation....
These things prove that the need for the UFoI is very real.

Ryle had a heart attack.
Ryle is now hospitalized after having a heart attack last night. Ryle asked the Awoo! moderation team to write a post on their behalf and to be transparent. The conversation was brief, and we have pieced together most of the details.
Ourselves believe the heart attack was caused by a combination of things, suspect the recent stress involving strong conversations around Fedifence, Fediblock and UFOI. The triggering message was in reply to one of the UFOI threads telling Ryle to kill themselves and with video footage of men brutally stabbing a woman to death. Ryle is unlikely to be around for a while.
Receipts of the post is available on request through direct message to: @Transparency
This material is heinous and will break rules of other instances, so we are only sending this instance administrators/moderators on request. They are free to share at their own risk the receipts.
DO NOT attempt to contact Ryle to harass, upset. The moderation team also now have full access to Ryle’s account, and ourselves will be actively removing any unpleasant direct messages left.

@LouisIngenthron Interestingly despite a semite including all speakers of a semetic language, including jews and arabs, in general practice antisemite refers exclusively to jews... very confusing I know.
