A painting done of me in medieval style by an AI... I must say this is kinda awesome.
@warkittens You could use a pgp plugin to do it right in the browser I would think.. ive seen them but never used one.
@warkittens How could you not have the extra step... if you had some key get automatically generated client side then it would break every time you login from a different device. The user would still need to maintain their own keys and likely would frequently loose DM history.
@ambihelical yes thats normal, you can only follow people who follow you.. BUT you can subscribe and it will work now since we can see their posts.
@warkittens Just encrypt your DMs with PGP, it would do the same thing as e2e encryption would require you to maintain your own key client side (and would loose access to your DMs if you lost your key)... so just do it manually.

The effort is appreciated though, dont let this discourage you. Honestly our best tactic right now is to try to recruit instance admins.. find them and talk to them.

I created the UFoI because a self proclaimed nazi named snow annoubced publucly he and a bunch if his followers were going to create alts on lgbtq servers and spread misi formation about qoto... it worked and now people are blocking for made up and silly reasons. Things i can easily disprove and no one listens.

After having seen how toxic some in mastodon can be, demanding more and more from you under the threat of being suspended over increasingly insiignificant things I do kinda get the push back.
I will CW over things that would get you trouble in work or images of violence that can be really harmful.. But I try not to go too crazy with it either.
@volkris @digital_carver Yes thats because we implemented the feature years befor emainstream, so you access it a bit different.
