@admitsWrongIfProven @ceoln @freeschool @lucifargundam

On which grounds of our existing server rules should we block? If there isnt one what rules do you propose that would warrant us blocking?

@freemo Haha I’ve unintentionally left spent casings in the driver’s seat of a car I borrowed (they fell out of my front pocket). One time I had a hole in my pocket, casings fell through my pants leg and into my boot. Had to take the boot off and shake the casings out of it in front of people like a clown, but this was on a shooting range at least.

Meta (Facebook) discourse

@lucifargundam @ceoln

To let eqch user decide for themselves if they wqnt their qccoubt seen by meta or not. Users can block the whole server when it goes live.

@anantagd @tchambers @jerry

They are the users who choose to trust me with their digital freedoms. Thus "my users"... if your going to try to do mental gymnastics to turn that into something negative waste your time somewhere emse

And no i never said it is abuse to block a bad server, in fact i said i completely respect and am ok with you choosing that for your server, nothing wrong with blocking them, in fact id strongly encourage my users to bloxk them if they wish

@anantagd @tchambers @jerry

Yes my users, the people who trust me not to abuse my powers over them, and who never gave me a reason to abuse it. Them...

@anantagd @tchambers @jerry

I have plenty of qualms, which is why im not on their social media.. its simply not my place to force my iews on my users. They are responsible afults and can form their own opinions, and have historically they have made great choices in that regard.

@anantagd @tchambers @jerry

As a user on twitter you have the choice to move servers, particularly if meta isnt blocked. So not useless at all.

@anantagd @tchambers @jerry

Id argue no, it isnt the best tool for that. Shared instance block lists accomplish that at a user level while still giving the user the choice. So a much better tool imo.

@anantagd @tchambers @jerry

I certainly wouldnt blame you for it, especially if your blocking them as a user. I personally would rather my users be able to decide for themselves.

@tchambers @jerry

No need to edit. I even agree that defederation ks not the way to handle it. Just say it does legitimately give them access to tons of your data thry couldnt get through the apis directly

@tchambers @jerry

There is no open api that would give them access to your dm, or follower only content. What do you mean?

@tchambers @jerry

While i agree thwt survelance probably isnt their biggest goal it is important to note this would be the only way to datamine your follower only, dm, and private content. Without an instance there is just no way to get at that data.

That said i woukdnt block meta for the sake of it.

While undressing to shower in my hotel room I found an old used bullet casing in my pocket... the maid will have an interesting time cleaning this room tomorrow ;)

Yes has been emailed many times by people with money asking to buy influence. Im sure most large instance admins have dealt with it many times... i usually just ignore the emails, nothing new, move along.

[2/2]

People have asked me to 'preblock' this project but I am not gonna.

Meta is not Gab so we give them a chance and can always block them later with 2 simple button clicks..

We would never ever sell out on you but rather invest time to make this all go smooth without everything come crashing down

I hope this clears up some mis-understandings

#Russia forces filled up a T-55 tank with 6 tons of TNT and sent it towards #Ukraine positions without crew. The tank was stopped by a land mine in the middle of the field but then apparently still remotely detonated. Looking at the size of the explosion, it certainly could have harmed unprotected soldiers in the trenches by the shockwave alone, but at the same time the damages to the field and trees afterwards seem unproportionately low as compared to the size of the charge and the vehicle used to deliver it. Using a VBIED — or TBIED in this case — was usually guerrilla tactics used against a much stronger opponent in lack of any more effective weapons...

@Pat

> I'm pretty sure this is sarcasm, so maybe the first sentence was, too.

I would never be sarcastic! I swear sometimes its like you dont know me at all!

> Did you ever hear the story about the cat that a spy agency put a bug in, with an antenna in the tail.

No

> They released it and it immediately got run over by a car.

Sounds like a perfect metaphor for government.
