@TruthSandwich

Not sure I follow. I argued that 99.99% of cops were bad, we agreed this should be addressed with reform not defund.

Are you saying that 0.01% makes a difference? Cause id say thats close enough to all.

This actually made me think... we have a rating system for tv shows and movies but as far as I know it doesnt apply to commercials... thats weird.

@realcaseyrollins

@TruthSandwich

It is an argument for reform... maybe you misread what I said.. I argued several times while I support ACAB I do **not** support defund, I **do** support reform.

So yes we agree

@freepeoplesfreepress

@futurebird Could you imaging slicing off a chunk of a flower to look at it under an electron microscope and just seeing billions of little tiny electron microscopes staring back at you :)

@TruthSandwich

As I said, i do not support defunding despite supporting ACAB.. so we agree there.

But since this logic assumes a cop is bad for not arresting their partner or other cops when those other cops are bad, it is an arguement that all cops are bad, presuming you agree a cop that doesnt act is a bad cop...

And when we say all we are talking 99.99% of cops.. the only exceptions would be a cop that has arrested other cops when on duty... which is virtually non existant.

@freepeoplesfreepress

@TruthSandwich

Except for the fact that corruption and abuse is out of control in our police for and almost ubiquitous... with police either actively and knowingly abusing people they have an issue with, or the "good cops" standing around and not arresting the bad cops when they witness this.

There are two facts I cant deny

1) virtually every police department has a large portion of cops who will knowingly lie, manipulate or abuse the rules to get the results they want.

2) In all the hundreds of thousands of videos catching cops abusing people it is almost completely nonexistant you will see the partner of that cop draw a gun on their partner and arrest them on the spot when they see it... never

That equates to even the good cops being bad out of inaction, thats an ACAB sentiment and I can agree with it, even if i dont agree with defunding the police as a solution.

@freepeoplesfreepress

@realcaseyrollins

hidden blocks are particularly ugly.. not for the server blocked, but for people who may want to join a server, they wont even know.

@curtis

@TruthSandwich

I mean ACAB is a sentiment, defund the police is a particular proposed "solution" that comes from ACAB.

For most they do go hand in hand, but no, not for me.

@freepeoplesfreepress

@realcaseyrollins Ahh ok.. yea i can confirm I can follow and I can search for and see that link from my instance...

Weird they blocked you guys and not us..

@TruthSandwich

I mean sure, they are going to push the swing vote far more than any staunch democrat party supporter... Either way this sort of toxicity weakens the left.

And while I myself sympathize with ACAB, but not defund the police, I do agree usually an ACAB account is a good sign it will be trash... oh the irony.

@freepeoplesfreepress

@TruthSandwich

> Nah, the far left’s attempt to take over the DNC has not driven me into the waiting arms of the fascist RNC.

It may not have driven you to the RNC, but it has driven a lot of others to it. But more importantly it is more likely to drive them to third parties. Either way it weakens the DNC.

@freepeoplesfreepress

@TruthSandwich

Sadly the infighting among the extreme liberals and moderate liberals is the DNC's worst enemy, and liberals as a whole really... I know you dont think this sort of abuse from the left drives people farther right, but it does.

I can personally say I use to vote democrat, and this definately played a role pushing me towards the middle.

@freepeoplesfreepress

@freepeoplesfreepress Valuable skills to have, and a lot of fun.. i just finished an antenna project that took quite some time (due to poor help)

@freepeoplesfreepress Its an extremely complex subject to understand fully... but the jist of it isnt too hard...

long wavelengths are for night, short wavelengths for day.. more sunspots are better for daytime propagation, worse for long wavelength propagation both day and night.

then you have winter vs summer but lets not go there :)

@freepeoplesfreepress Oh and sunspots have a HUGE effect on this and ultimately depending on the activity ont he sun determines what your MUF is (maximum usable frequency)... right nwo the sun is ideal for what we want.

@freepeoplesfreepress dusk and dawn are the ideal times because .. you want the sun to have just start to split the F-layer but before the d-layer forms...

That said 10m performs very well mid day where the d-layer has formed (so absorbs a bit but 10m gets through it best), and the f-layer is fully formed.

Usually when its completely night time you wont get much of any activity on 10m because the F layer is not charged properly to reflect it.

Found a nice little group of guys, mostly in west virginia who apparently are on 3.803MHz every night 8 - 9pm... it is right in the sweet spot for my antenna (80 meters band i have a limited window where it tunes up very nicely). Happy I found the group so i have something to do. All really clear tonight, s9+10 so very promising. its about a 280 mile contact, which is pretty decent for 80m too.
