@levisan This is probably TMI but i literally dont close any doors in my home except for AC reasons, and am almost never fully clothed when in my home since I literally have no motivation to get dressed :)
@levisan I live alone, and no one has a key to my house... so my answer was obviously no but im not sure im the audience you had in mind.

No we arent talking about flooring and timber, yea you can get flooring and timber today at a primeum just as you could get it back then, except back then you had to pay the premium as you had less alternatives.
No its more about the areas where tech matters, insulation, windows, fire safety, computer controlled tech, safety in wiring, etc etc.
Ozempic is so weird.. i never even knew it was possible to be full and not actually feel the food in your stomach.. like before full meant "physically no space"..
@freemo Why is neither side able to get a younger and less compromised person to step up?
The MAGA side in particular is just ripe for someone who can duplicate Trump's jousting with the media, while avoiding Trump's stupid statements that get him in trouble.
@mike805 I really really dont get it... how can this be our best and brightest, neither of them can dress themselves without help...
@freemo
I was under the assumption that Dem-leaning voters would either sit out or vote third party. I voted for HRC knowing she could lose and received the toxic behavior from VBNMW. I live in CT and so won't be swinging my state's ECVs by voting for 3rd party, will still get the same abrasive treatment for being a crypto-Trump supporter as I did when I voted for the Dem nom in '16 as I get for voting for the Greens.
Lesson needed to be learnt:
More flies w/ honey than vinegar
@freemo Yep, something like that lol, I know it's not everyone, but sometimes...let's just put our shit aside to avoid Hitler Jr
@RickiTarr It certainly isnt everyone, I agree. The problem is it often **looks** like it is everyone simply because they are the loudest and most memorable. Thats part of the problem, even when a few of a group do it it ruins it for the entire group.
No offense, truly... but I feel like you need to travel more. If you did I dont think you would ever utter such a thing. The world news is not an accurate depiction of the social changes taking place.
@freemo @RickiTarr
I don't think that the toxicity drives anyone to be conservative, but may throw their hands up and give up on everything.
I agree with you that there should be tolerance for nuance, since reflexive abrasiveness is very off-putting and counter productive if we need as many people as possible to win elections.
Literally everyone I know personally from before Trump existed who is now claiming they will vote Trump have never voted republican before and most have voted democrat the majority of times in the past (and third party other times).
So while I certainly cant speak for how big of a trend it is, I can say I have seen it in droves personally.
I can even say I've been so deeply hurt by other democrats despite the fact that I voted for obama and have quite voted democrat in the past I have decided I can no longer support them moving forward given the deplorable way they treat people. While I also cant in good conscious vote Trump I can say it certainly has lost my democrat vote.
@freemo that makes sense hiring at a junior level, but if you are hiring at a senior level, I think you need to be really careful that the toy project has adequate complexity to show the skills and experience you are looking for.
@musicman I totally agree that a toy project needs to be equal difficulty and complexity as a real world ticket. When I say toy i just mean "something not commercially useful to us" not to imply it is less complex. In fact a toy project would likely be more complex since it would be a greenfield thing rather than contributing to something that already exists.
Yea gay marriage is the only thing that specifically seems to be an anti-pattern. There is no doubt some weird shifts in overall ideology ont he spectrum, but i dont think its as simple as going conservative.. There seems to be more of a boost in hate, on both sides, that has shifted ideology towards being more hateful. That has caused both sides to shift what they do in many ways as neither was really about hate in the past.
