I am watching this show for the first time and I'm really REALLY impressed with the scientific accuracy in ever minor details. This is an excellent quote from the show and it is also scientifically accurate from experiments we have done on mice. I have never seen a show so mindful of the science before yet still be futuristic science fiction. Really cool!
My mom keeps sending me texts like she is a recovering alcoholic.. I just got a text "5 days sober not one drink!"... lol she was drinking one glass of red wine a day! LOL doctors *recommend* one glass a day.
Bless her soul, but lol sometimes I'm not even sure she is real.

Unpopular Opinion:
Saying someone is X years young is just a way of saying they are so old and decrepit you feel like you are insulting them by even uttering their age without trying to offset this by saying young instead of old.
The day people start referring to my age in this way is the day I know im an old geezer.
Am I the only one who noticed Biden was completely silent in his DNC acceptance speech about how he is going to address Police Brutality.. meanwhile he has a police officer as VP, so I think this is something he shouldnt just be glossing over.
I feel like i should use my email @acm.org more often.. I really love the ACM and should advertise my association with them more prominently.

@freemo @valleyforge @realcaseyrollins I been waiting for the body cam too. It still feels like a gray situation to me. I'm sure the footage exists, they just don't want it released, like with #GeorgeFloyd.
@realcaseyrollins Come on now that a load of crap and you know it. Jacob walked away slowly and got into a car, thats it, he had no gun, he made no threats, he just walked away slowly.
There was plenty of time to tackle him, plenty of ways to handle the situation. There was no justification to shoot, even less of a justification to shoot him in the back, and absolutely no reason to unload a whole clip.
Jacob Blake forcefully resisted and fought police officers (for the second time). Kyle Rittenhouse surrendered himself to authorities. This is why ...

Been tinkering with this scilab thing for almost a week now. The system seems to work well, yet i still have zero clue about the correlation between PID and Plant . Well, hope the best for the presentation tomorrow.

Interesting, #GNU `date` seems to support dates with ambiguous three-letter offsets, though it's unclear how it decides to disambiguate them. Looks like "IST" defaults to "India Standard Time":
$ TZ=UTC date --iso=m --date="Thu Aug 27 12:34:56 AM IST 2020"
2020-08-26T19:04+00:00
Happy National Dog Day everyone, the only holiday that counts.
Did you all remember to put up your dog day decorations?

Just realized workaround is a phonetic auto-antonym
workaround - a shortcut to avoid work
work a round - to do a round of work
Auto-antonyms are my new favorite thing :)
A variation on a common mandarin phrase i stole from Stargate Universe.
