Its weird having grown up with a mother who was a compulsive liar and abusive (physically and mentally) yet still recognize she cared about me. But its weird being the most adult person in the household growing up. Even to this day most of the elders in my immediate family behave like toddlers, its really sad.
@hinterwaeldler Hi, just checking if you are a cross poster or if you actively monitor your account. I noticed a lack of replies in comments and would like to know since i generally dont follow cross posters.
The look on my face when someone starts resorting to personal insults on a respectful discussion over a difference of opinion.
Excellent source of info. Here is the breakdown of wait times compared between different countries. Sadly it does show the narrative of socialized medicin having significantly increased wait times.
We need to fix healthcare and socialized healthcare sadly is just as broken as the alternative. There are better solutions than either option that we have right now IMO.
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, University of Toronto, and UCL have developed a technique for imaging objects outside of a device’s line of sight.
The technique combines special sources of light, sensors, and computer vision processing to deduce or reconstruct highly detailed imagery, without having previously captured the image or “viewed” it directly. As noted in TechCrunch, the team is even able to reconstruct objects around corners with tremendous accuracy using multiple measurements and information about the target object’s geometry.
I always feel bad when i dont follow someone who follows me. Particularly when they seem like a nice person.
Truth is if anyone follows me I always take a minute to read through your feed. If its about stuff I'd find engaging and i think we would have a lot to talk about I follow. Otherwise dont. But If I dont and you interact with me a good deal i often will follow regardless.
Just dont feed a bit on the light side, nothing person, I will always try to respond in comment threads regardless and engage.
@Gargron Out of curiosity did M.social block the gab instances already? (I have no ulterior motive in asking other than curiosity)
Got a pair of socks at #gogoconf, finally conference organizers noticed we don't only wear shirts. Hoping for shorts next.
Anyone here who can recommend Mastodon accounts, instances or websites about hackers practicing #polyamory? @freemo #retootpls
Ya know "treat people how you want to be treated" is a bitter sweet phrase for me.
I have always lived up to this, problem is people dont want to be treated the same way I like to be treated. Worse yet people treat me the way they want to be treated and it isnt at all how I want to be treated.
Damnit society!
If all goes according to plan in the next day or two I will officially become a legal resident of the Netherlands. The hard .part will be making sure I keep my residency.
