@lmrocha @freemo you are arguing this from a statistics point of view. You may well have a point. If you want to debate with gun rights supporters, please understand: many of us believe in natural rights which existed before civilization and which civilization cannot legitimately take away. Personal defense is one of those.
People with that POV will not be swayed by numbers. Our response is, why was this not a problem 100 years ago? Personally, I suspect psychiatric drugs play a big role today.
Has anyone taken a moment to remind you of the simple fact of just how amazing you are? How nice it is to have you around?
It's true and I fear you're not told often enough.
@freemo right on. And before someone posts the "well regulated militia" argument, the militia at that time was the able-bodied male population. The 2a is definitely about the general public being armed and trained to repel either invasion or tyranny.
If the Federal government wanted to take the 2a seriously, they should be expanding the Civilian Marksmanship Program and offering free rifle lessons in high school.
@trinsec apparently some dutch kids are in the hotel next to me....
@JuliusGoat Excellent words, something we evryone should consider, whether they voted for Biden, a man who started his political career by being pro-segregation and faught to keep segregation alive right up until it started costing him votes... or Trump, someone who was brutal on immigration (not exactly racist but I cant think of anything racist he did, maybe someone has a better example?).... Either way, most of this nation is a bit too close to supporting the wrong people it seems.
After a long night of getting #QOTO gitlab back up and running it is now up and **much** faster than it used to be.. had to completely restructure the volumes.. but now its fast as lightening... enjoy
@freemo You can just Google this stuff.
Michael Cohen went to jail for violating campaign finance law because it was done secretly with the purpose of influencing the election. John Edwards was prosecuted for the same thing.
If the prosecution can prove that Donald Trump directed Cohen to do that and was aware of it, he is guilty of the same crime and would presumably face similar consequences.
