@freemo I do not claim an expertise, but I do not see an application for which Judge works better than alternatives. The desire to shoot .410 makes it quite large. Meanwhile, shot from the rifled barrel scatters so much that it's basically useless beyond a snake. But one can achieve the same result against snakes with the snake shot. This leaves slugs, but the energy of a .410 slug about corresponds to a defensive 10mm (it exceeds a 9mm, of course). I see that I placed myself into a position where I have to pee on your parade if I am to justify my off-hand remark, which wasn't my original intention, but oh well. If you enjoy shooting that gun, it's all that matters.

Of the three guns I own what is your favorite?

@freemo @JonKramer

I remember when...

a guy showed me his new S-100 bus memory card with 256K of RAM, and I said, "What do you need all that memory for?"

(my first computer had 32K of RAM because I couldn't afford the full 48K.)

I bought two new guns today. The first one is a judge (pictures here with my target practice). The other gun is an Hk 9mm, picture and target i follow up thread.

#Google honored a #DMCA request from an Israeli company and removed a web browser for #AndroidTV from the Play Store. The request was filed because the app has the potential to access a pirate site.

This is obviously ridiculous yet Google still has declined one of the developer's appeals, and failed to respond to the second. How can they be this incompetent when it comes to frivolous DMCA notices and false copyright strikes? People are abusing their systems like crazy.

I currently have 160 Gigs of high speed memory in my computer... my crazy ass is seriously considering upgrading it to 256 gigs... I remember the days when 1 gig was a lot.

@freemo@qoto.org @stux@mstdn.social CAME HERE TO POST EXACTLY THIS 😆

Some of the most fearsome people I have ever met have been woman a foot shorter than me.

@stux If you ever met a short woman you already understand this :)

@freemo @stux
*Short woman here

When every threat is bigger than you, you get used to it. Other factors are calculated first.
The size factor is only considered when it's extreme.

i don't see why hard forks of free software should be a reason for exclusion. then you just can do closed source or some weird "you can look at it but don't run it" construct like signal does as well.

joinmastodon for sure isn't owing anyone something. part of this discussion was "mastodon.social is the entrypoint for newcomers" - so is joinmastodon. by excluding everything but what is "correct", be it forks or completely different software it's doing a disservice to the fediverse.

it has done so already by taking something, relabeling it as "the mastodon network" all while raking in tax money and working together with the EU on surveillance of the fediverse.

Can we please stop throwing around the threat of defederation?

Defederation shouldn't happen unless an instance is a cesspool full of terrible behavior with an admin unwilling to deal with it.

Annoyances like spam can be dealt with by admins without scorching the Earth and going nuclear.

Lets not turn the #Fediverse, where instance are supposed to be part of a larger collection, into islands of instances that have cut themselves off from others because of annoyances.

#Mastodon #MastoAdmin

silencing Mastodon.social again... JFRC... fix your shit or something.

I had to silence mastodon.social. That spam run was a lot.

Should we silence mastodon.social?

For those #mastoadmin who have to clean up the mess, this query helped a bunch - obviously replace Infosec.exchange with your domain. You can select all accounts and suspend at once, then jump to the end and you’ll see two accounts that are inadvertently swept up - just manually unsuspend those.
