Choosing the right tool for the task depends on the future requirements.

Take for example on a puddle filled path. Ideally, one would either have waterproof boots or an extra pair of shoes to change into.

If neither is applicable, then one can try to construct an optimal route with various hops to mitigate as much water contact as possible. Or one could just as well take off the shoes plus socks and do the trail .

Doing a trail barefoot is no simple feat, since one needs to regularly train the foot muscles and harden the foot sole skin. Otherwise one will tire out too quickly and/or cannot keep the pace of the other hikers. Additionally, one will need to put a stricter focus on where one steps, not only to avoid additional pain from landing on sharp rocks, but also to avoid unnecessary slipping and twisting of the foot. Thus, if possible one should avoid stepping on mud, first because unknown objects can be hiding underneath it and secondly it can create a slick surface, thereby increasing the potential of falling and/or injury.

@freemo Yeah that makes sense. This is why I hope Firefox catches up in that area. Personally I rarely have more than 15 or so tabs open at a time, so it's not that big a deal for me.

@freemo@qoto.org Weird. Well, they've been adding features precisely for tab management. Tab stacks, workspaces, etc etc. So if any it's probably worth a try for you. I don't use those extra features myself as I don't really need them.

@freemo @kjetil_kilhavn @niclas @Miriamm @samuraikid Freemo my guy you gotta stop calling it an "invasion".

Calling refugee immigration an "invasion" is an dickish thing to do. Please stop. It makes you look like those xenophobes in the US who talk about central american immigrant "invasions".

There were waves of immigration from 1900 on, predictably leading to tension and violence against the immigrants. (Britain I think did not do a great job dealing with this in a number of ways!)

None of this in the slightest has anything to do with whether Israel is justified in the way they are prosecuting this war against Hamas baby killing terrorists, of course, which is another reason to stop saying it.

Man what a sigh of relief now that I'm back on moving back from

I can be productive again!

I even stepped up my game and added an extension that initiates auto-tab-groups based on rules. Then I setup a bunch of collections in my bookmarks. So now I can open up all my starting tabs at once and they will all auto sort into their appropriate groups!

I love a good organized work space!

I just released a new version of Fedipage (a static site generator with full ActivityPub support).

Excited, the new version fixes a major bug and adds a few nice new features!

Fedipage
Fedipage v1.1.0 Released Fedipage, the source that powers this static website with ActivityPub support, has just released v1.1.0! We have a few new...

@freemo It’s a kit hibi.mx/products/june, so it really depends on the switches and keycaps you use. What’s cool, is that the case is just one piece of silicone; so it’s relatively light and still sounds good.

@freemo @Miriamm I think we can safely say that the following is true: Both sides commit atrocities.
Hamas killed soldiers, but they also deliberately targeted and murdered civilians.
Israel say they target terrorists and say the dead civilians are unfortunate collateral damage. To a dead civilian I don't think that distinction matters much.
However, if the attack came as a surprise, can we really trust the Israeli armed forces when they say they know where the military targets are?

Fedipage Sites Are Now Easier Update
We have now made Fedipage based sites must easier to keep up to date with the latest features and bug fixes.
By moving out the site (the one you are reading this on) as a fork of the main repo, and also removing the old content folder from the main repo. As well as moving hugo.toml to hugo.toml.example this should make things much easier. Because our web page content was being updated it would conflict with other sites that use their code when they try to pull the latest code from upstream.

New ActivityPub Features and Fixes
We have recently implemented several new Fedipage features as well as fixed a few critical bugs.
Here are the new features from the CHANGELOG.md:
Added the ability for Mastodon instances to find the associated post when searching for the link in the search bar. Created activity and status pages for each page independent from the outbox. Added header link alternates specifying the dual mime type of pages. Now uses publication date set in post frontmatter when available otherwise will set the current date when sent out to followers.

It is simply not possible to evacuate over one million people in 24 hours from the zone of attack in Gaza. The answer to horrific atrocities by Hamas cannot be collective punishment upon an entire population, 50 percent of which are children.

As someone who is now shaving his head i have to admit... while it looks good from the front ya look like a fucking penis from the back.

What people self-declare and what is reality is often not the same thing.

@freemo@qoto.org congrats for fedipage btw ❣️

following
@fedipage@fedipage.com is recommended ♥️

Remember people, being politicially incorrect is good for your health with all of the following benefits:

* No constant stress about what you say
* All of the most toxic and judgemental people will hate you enough to not be around you.
* The people who want to be around you will be fun, good, non-toxic people
* You dont have to deal with constant drama over nonsense
* You live a live of quality, not quantity.

@freemo *poke* The doomsday commentary before was nice. Do it again!
(To explain: not much up, and with current events being apocalyptic in the very bad sense that they distract from an upcoming climate catastrophe, unsettling)

Hi there!

Anyone who knows or who might be able to give me some help with a open-source problem I'd really appreciate it:

discourse.gohugo.io/t/how-to-s

Its an open-source project for the fediverse that is mostly working. So you'd be helping a good cause :)
