Massive space take up by PNG images... [unintended]

Have you noticed the PNG image files on Mastodon when you go to save an image? (images are not JPG)

[Assumption #1]: The image is converted to PNG sometimes to strip EXIF...

PNG = 1,1mb +/-
JPG = 150Kb +/-

If I'm right then it's good to strip EXIF but regularly 1MB PNG files are created for originally ~50-100Kb JPG upload!

Overall it is killing space massively also.

█ A SOLUTION:
Convert the PNG back to JPG (done server side) to get about 1mb space back per image!

The aim of tech should be to allow the most basic version of an app or stable evolution and still cater for those people, rather than face constant new mixed-in dangers of changing big steps without this kind of 'backup' plan.

Loading websites for example, many sites that haven't changed at all but have forced overlay saying "You need to upgrade your browser to continue" etc.

At least I feel like that now more than ever because we have reached enough of a level for social change etc (if some of us want it hard enough with text zoom-like chat etc...) and only need reduce talking to machines most of the day!).

I'm thinking the upgrading of things browser-based is almost as unneeded monopoly / irrational market forces and further reducing useful things by monetising even more etc.

Any new tech that doesn't incorporate the old and/or switches up a user's version often and forcibly when they don't really need to I think is doomed...

█ a) for users constantly getting rug-pulled or having to change when happier with old and still workable

█ b) dev making things with too many whistles and not focussing on human change (for example) breaking their own appeal while everyone races to breaks theirs at the same time. There is good reasons protocol have been around and still used (FTP, XMPP, Email) and perhaps good examples of being a little too overcomplicated in their evolution (deliberately)

Basically a lack of practise, have to be brave and egg each other on too....

we need to do what we would do theoretically in perfect time... can't wait forever / not getting better with money and less time anyway so practise incrementing, mixing, even the smallest amount or gesture increment of constant

(So this isn't just virtue signals- I've found solution and reminder in:
█ sticking things or big words on the wall sometimes (especially if eluding me, so I have no chance but to look at IT!
█ drawn on the back of posters
█ put 'it' in hallway where I can see or in my door way so I don't forget... match the best time
█ get creative, chase the sun of a gun idea..... cheers
█ screwing up paper the words and throwing in a bin (just for kicks!) and maybe fetching them again and unravelling them...

Feel free to simplify or make better diagram / list as it's not perfect or complete but main reasons and thoughts there... "because of xyz" needs to be smashed or massaged!

Banks use your deposits to make loans...

and don't give you as much as they would charge to get a loan.

The loans they give others are often larger than they might have in the bank.

Loans for houses, big business etc...
█ this the false root of unethical power that generations went along with.

No parent wants to mention paying for money and while housing prices shoot up and up disproportionally every year and while salaries stay the same for years- it's no wonder (but parents still don't get it sometimes or want the best but lying and hoping you too will go to work for the debt.

Unfairness begins in the game of "money" itself where some people - banks mainly - can make money from money itself.

Banks use it as a commodity here we are not allowed and can't use in the same direct way. Power imbalance,

The power of Banks being able to 'give' while taking more interest and more fees in total (and the doubling effects of the debts and payments along the way) is the result for decline or movement of money back to banks only to repeat the process.

Any bank note is mainly to say someone promised to pay more back for it (if it was taken out as a loan to start with).

It's like promising the world to give 110% which is why people start killing each other or taking over, because even selling your grandma and her land won't eventually solve this equation and selling what was mostly free becomes Las Vegas style costs when it encroaches into your hometown.

(5/5 - but could be 2 less as my content and basic question was chopped off all the time / not answered and wouldn't answer even why he wouldn't answer! - human orientated behaviour improvement type suggestions perhaps not for him and things as I explained that's almost half the work (people not just machines!)

So not even why he continued to respond and work together of small video clip but never for those other things. That was actually dodgy.

(4/5 I even like the healthy selfish "I need this done" and "talk to my assistant" which I did - but again both of them missing / self-censoring answering? Why.
Even while mentioning it again as 1 sentence or rewording it and mentioning I'm doing that to try another way, no spamming intended or even mentioned by them. That's the thing unhealthy people do so I flag the human thing and not answering (even a bit).

So overall is not 5/5 and even though I did consider his star / busy position and did much more than expected it did leave that quite puzzling even now... which is

- - - - Ignored totally my "Human" type questions and even a 1 line question why

- - - - He kept asking, even spamming to say "could you said it in 10 sentences or less" (almost exactly and only that, even though I did. He wouldn't answer like your typical person... hmmm must be a good reason or "computer says no?"

His profile is like political news profile and would like to see personal revolution and deep-development... full circle sir!

I / WE don't wish to expect everyone on form but there was a deliberate avoidance here I get from normal people - like 'nah let's to talk about actually fixing each human one by one" or "let's not talk about what I think or why I will not answer")...

but then a year and a bit on I find his Mastodon like any other boost-everything political profile (or just recently?).

I thought "since he's so fast" and far along he could / would literally be touching people's soul or at least assistant he could set on that if he can't... he does

The personal touch to 'convert' people's life and for them to remember every day together with other fans is needed (fan to fan if not himself).

I only use what is simple nowadays, both for simplicity and long-term defence.

Think FTP / SSH protocols for storage-simplicity with passwords on to stop spam and choose who to share with - changing passwords often.

All this web interface stuff is getting highly gacked and actually used as attack / advertising beacons / tracking etc and switching interface one day so my browser doesn't work with it and hooking up with browser makers to enable ads and new 'features' in their newer versions.

We have it all and had it all before - we just need to stick to those things and accept the peak and balance of politics in further versions / decision-making (especially browsers now).

█ Email (with @delta easy encyption and voicemails over email - even with GoogleMail OK)
█ XMPP (30 years now)
█ IRC (or similar)
█ Text (raw if possible, not even .doc or .odt if you can to make search faster)
█ More I'll expand on one day... but you keep to what you know works best and universally forever! (like the freedom of using any client / front end of choice to upload / download)

Even open source stuff are need high level requirements and we should keep software for old tech FOREVER! Android also which I won't upgrade... it's just a tactic to buy new / upgrade for free into new business model (tracking / 'protecting' us in browser from 'bad' sites etc).

We already have the tech to solve this (like Audio/Video Chats). 🎤 🐟

Many things will be solved or helped by the humans stuff first and then from that the essential computer or people orientated stuff.

To be clear (and not antagonistic) it's NOT just about talking to complicated computers any more.

We have all we need (people).

If people can't imagine freedom or trying together, then you put yourself in jeopardy from lack of it and lack of clarity in yourself with others. Believing enough is important.

If you and 1 person can imagine your own potential or just theirs, then you can make steps towards it. Casual and dedicated.

A Gandhi or Theresa might help as image and icon but it less and less unneeded when reality has you and me in. We have these shoulders we stand on already so not that tough but to accept the problems learning each other a bit as we go.

Fear not! We stand on great works already, and yes as long as I'm not for XYZ President (or whatever triggers) then all will be well :) but do consider great people had great flaws too...

Usually the basic recipe as that it should be quite fun and quite testing to avoid stagnation and to literally chase freedom like it's love itself.

Imagine that a different world is possible and then there is a chance you or others will do something towards it. Don't be paranoid about anonymity or other people's preferences because good work still works inside that (and maybe should so isn't taken down).

Without imagining, there is very little chance. And sometimes the opposite if you're not careful.
