Teacher training is about compliance with regulations, not teaching and learning.

@gabujira @lake Crazy, in a nice way.

Just got the message to follow you :)

Would you like to do a 1min audio for your work for the Fediverse now you're on ?

Existing examples I've done are below (1min talking about what you love to do is what I'm asking for):

1 🎤 The Little Prince book - The author's experience writing it.

qoto.org/@freeschool/111845561

2 🎤 Fantasy website from a fan's perspective and personal experience in reading a character.

qoto.org/@freeschool/111845709

Let me know what you think.

I would just add the same intro as those audio then add whatever you say after a light edit which I will send you first before anything.

Audio is sent out to the Fedi (it's Fedi-only and non-commercial, no tricks). Questions welcome.

If you can use the bored people online, you have unlocked a big treasure.... Time.

Is anyone going to FOSDEM by way of Veldhoven on Friday afternoon or Saturday? There will be thousands of stickers at the Stickerkoning.nl ready to go to FOSDEM. But they don't have a ride because most of us are already in Brussels. It's at least two big boxes so not a task for train people to take on.

Looking for a message ages ago? 💬
Remember a few words?

Try in search bar 🔍 (top left usually) this example:

from:freemo suggestion sorry

█ change "freemo" to any user name
"@freemo" not needed if on same server as you

█ change text after user to what you're searching for (from your profile's history)

█ Advanced info and syntax here:
mstdn.social/@DeltaWye/1112809

█ And here (subject to different server versions and instances running or not)

#QOTO #suggestion = Send message to all users about Outage, Changes, Etc...

@freemo Thanks and a ... I would encourage somehow everyone getting a message about this and future major outage / server choices etc... Would be really handy / participatory too in future...

(I always get things by chance which is a bit of a worry actually as even I'm on here a lot and still miss it)

Something of a direct message would be great so less chance of people missing important things!

What do you think (even if not sure how to send on Mastodon message to all users) ?

@wjmaggos Do you want to do a short few mins audio more about what that means?

Examples are below from others I already asked. I'd add just my standard intro like these one's below on different topics:

🎤 The Little Prince book - The author's experience writing it.

qoto.org/@freeschool/111845561

🎤 Fantasy website from a fan's perspective and personal experience in reading a character.

@gerrymcgovern ☑️ "AI will make e-waste explode" - point added to the existing list against AI !

█ I believe it will increase electronic waste and by people who already don't care or want leverage.

█ people will not want to use old(er) servers (and will buy / expect new like buying new phones when you don't have to), We already see this in Fediverse too.

█ People will try leverage speed and add bells and whistles as excuse to buy new or selling 'advanced' tech to do the same old to people.

More 🧠's before AI 🤖's

"The second AI-generated tsunami is at the back end; a stream of used equipment. AI is driving faster server innovation, particularly in chip design."

E-waste is already the fast growing and most toxic waste stream in the world. AI will make e-waste explode. About 5% of e-waste is properly recycled.

Did you know you can easily search through your own Mastodon posts?

Just include from:me in the search field.

Instead of this, you can include in:library to show posts you have interacted with or written yourself.

If you want to search through posts of a specific user, include from:username (e.g. from:@metin)

#mastodon #MastoTips #FediTips #tip #tips #information #knowledge #fediverse

@metin @Kay Oh Metin that is so true and was so far from memory until now... wow need a minute here :thumbsup_hmn_g1:

@Kay No problem, I know how uninstructive some tips can be. 🙂 And I grew up with 8-bits computers, copying pages of BASIC listings from paper magazines, only to discover that there was an error somewhere, and the program wouldn't run. 😅

People are also not helped by the framework or narrative itself, that "either you are in or you're out" of conversation by the technology you do or don't use...

@garyackerman Yes good points and something I'd love other people to comment if being called 'stuck in their ways' and not using things as much as others (so not really 'stuck' just they have their reasons I'd like to know more and feel from them).

TLDR: People are also not helped by the framework or narrative itself, that "either you are in or you're out" of conversation by the technology you do or don't use"

I think we all felt it at some point or still can feel it in new things for us today - AI for me currently - just no way!
...and actually still emails now!!

So using Fediverse can be a solution to all that!!

█ Biggest point I can offer and I hope you can acknowledge is:

That people are also not helped by the framework or narrative itself, that "either you are in or you're out" of conversation by the technology you do or don't use. It's a kind of reflection on the way people do things or try jumping people on to different ways (a kind of aggression or ignorance but more aggression if people higher up know what they are doing and reduced channels they create / exploit top-down) to make people use tech also increasingly as their way of life (increasingly online only) or siphon and extract all the data meanwhile to make perfectly losing games (profit) that people find themselves playing unknown to them or less transparently because it's all 'free' ! Lol us but also 'poor (unknowing) us'....

It's kind of hardly fair moving the picture frame to render generations obsolete as well as people perhaps not taking it up for various solid / unsolid reasons.

-----------------------------
The rest is optional reading
and not needed / above is main point. Thanks it's also too long unless really interested in mentality or why and why not people about Tech from variety of viewpoiints best as audio later perhaps or in discussion to refer to this post.
-----------------------------

So by email standards this is perhaps simplest tech but now already becoming increasingly more complicated, invasive, multifaceted, more 3rd party, more invisible who is behind the screen / websites and faster doing really "God knows what at the same time!". Not all of the people are programmer and even programmers can't see how it's being used...

Remembering how the people felt 'logging on' and 'logging in' into email and all the change of world it would suggest somewhat... of a coming reality they would be speeding up in accepting usage and accepting that as normal, is a big thing. As well as being forced to answer, not talk to a 'real human', out-sourcing, having expectations by workplaces, or reducing things increasingly to text etc I think was / is still in people's mind and quite a sound shout for how we still have that and got into a lot of mess... faster.

(It wasn't pure fear or unjustified discomfort)...

It becomes less in our hands (even those I talked to running their own email started jacking it in) and so from choice or two bad things, people can do least bad (or do nothing).

...unless... it's overly serving them like Facebook served people... to find people or see new born baby pictures to the grandparents who might have questioned how this magic was all possible 'for free' and warning family to signing up with big unknown American sites but after probably being shown baby pictures from some family having Facebook, and no apparent direct invasion (or junk mail in the post) the bashing died down calling it a fad at first, or saying it's an extra bell and whistle to photo pictures sent by post - preferring to do things 'normally' in life etc (indeed changing norms and arguably not much for the better... or just less human overall...).
So then accepting speed and instant joy over whatever is happening in the background and site's programming / tracking / 3rd party info selling etc...

People 1000's of miles away suddenly found it less scary for the benefits. The reality is probably more scary or overarching.

An then with tech people also found less time as result as working life encroaches outside and require you to check your mail and ironically perhaps more work and worry.

But video and audio is coming back around again in a better way I think.

Additionally, to hit point home about usage of Tech, the modern day is or can be used as a way of installing tech (monitoring) our life after almost-any-excuses for it's practicality or speed at loss of the other communicational-human stuff deliberately dropped in using tech (like not asking people and more telling them from distance, or not letting people rest away from work) and as overall ordering people what to do etc

My reply can seem overkill but as an Tech continues at equally faster speed there is therefore not always the making of things easier and sometimes at best nullifying benefits if all people can do is keep calling / emailing and hassling you).
Tech and uncaringness is equally increased to leave same as before but faster.

Again would love to hear that audibly by others or by text reply here how they don't want to get into those traps (many don't have Facebook) despite any benefits that might be seen as less-than-long-lasting or bad-habit forming of the unhealthy kind (screen, constant checking, stuck to keyboards, sitting all the time, being like a moth to light with how much there is online vs. cultivating local / offline people around them).

It's taken us a while to realise (or still realising it) and I hope we can show that more clearly how better to do or not it, not necessarily as all-in or blind or unchecked (as a lot of new Tech is and develops know it later flanking us).

Overall trying to do time and technology better, together. 🧠 ⌨️ 🎤

@claromes Yeah send by DM any time.
Even a quick test version is welcome (and sometimes is better), but as you feel for it, I'm ready! :)

TETRIS HISTORY- WHO WAS INVOLVED? (MAIN PEOPLE)

TETRIS HISTORY- WHO'S WHO LIST

Before Tetris became a global gaming hit, it was at the centre of business battles between Western corporations and Soviet bureauracies. These are the men who fought at the frontline...

☻ Alexey Pajitnov
Invents Tetris in 1985 while working at the Moscow Academy of Science's Computer Centre. Alexey moved to the USA to work for Microsoft after the success of Tetris.

☻ Evgeni Nikolaevich Belikov
Head of Elorg, the Russian ministry for import and export of software and hardware. Belikov is the man with whom all negotiations about Tetris had to be done.

☻ Robert Stein
President of British software house Andromeda. Sells Tetris rights to Robert Maxwell’s Mirrorsoft UK and US affiliate Spectrum Holobyte before he’s negotiated anything concrete with the Russians.

☻ Kevin Maxwell
Son of Robert Maxwell and head of Mirrorsoft UK. Buys all Tetris rights (except arcade and hand-held) from Stein not knowing that Stein has no formal contract with the Russians.

☻ Henk Rogers
American entrepreneur and video games enthusiast. Nintendo employs Rogers to get the hand-held Tetris rights to support the launch of Game Boy.
