I help people create audio / edit educational audio / podcast / music / visual short videos / transcript text
+ I like to add a bit humour while being quite strict in my own politics (opinions) but open / inviting for others to tell me what I should do if they can explain more than just a short comment (I don't mind it's healthy for me at least if you have logic and can stand yourself explaining).
FreeSchool is about Learning towards Freedom (which is about Uniting everyone slowly, even "1 by 1"... Easy with The Fediverse!
Not virtue signalling here only, but practise of EVERYTHING as we go. Judged by getting in contact (many have) and having courage to communicate (or seeking it from others is ok, EVERYONE needs a bit of courage or hand-holding to make big personal changes). Who else is there for example if family doesn't understand?
Learning and watching can be good and staying out of people's way, BUT better is doing something every day and helping each other with some tough decisions / lessons... and then being bold enough to do them. 1... 2... 3 that is all that's needed.

I'm usually impressed with my media gallery as I work on posts a lot usually or hit the "Aha!" moments and capture it (other people may forget it for years, not me!).
Freedom is about *making it work together* better like using #Mastodon on the #Fediverse daily for better platforms with more #bestpractices and 'best' people to help us which I kind of collect here and

FreeSchool is terminology put together from many good things from past (coined in 1950's/60's. I / we become it eventually through being.

Naturally you will hesitate if someone is sure of themself or ok standing on shoulders what we copy do the best from humbly but not too sterile either.
Based on just emotions ruins almost everything, which seems very common - very ungraceful - so don't disconnect... do it gracefully at least!

I wish I could pick and choose features in Mastodon instead of worry for asking for features and perhaps getting upgrades that might change other things too much.
● So to make posts self-destructive for example would make for a lot of clarity and even save some space.
I could set a default expiry time (especially if it didn't involve upgrading Mastodon to change existing requirements - like a plugin or just checkbox to enable feature).

I have been following and participating in discussions related to the ActivityPub / AT Protocol bridge (also known as the One-Sided Mastodon vs. Bluesky Grudge Match).
There are some interesting observations:

Many people don't feel that their fediverse software has the tools they need to prevent harassment or spam.
Many people feel they need to depend on moderators to protect them, and don't feel empowered or able to protect themselves.
A lot of people didn't really understand what they signed up for, and become shocked and angry when they find out how federation and the fediverse-in-general actually works. Many people did not even realize that they are connected to other platforms and protocols already.
Some people don't seem to understand what public means, and that if their post is public, anyone can see it, including people they don't want to see it. They don't seem to realize that privacy by obscurity is not true privacy.
Some people are willing to stereotype millions of people as being bad just because they are on the wrong platform.
Some people are willing to collectively punish (i.e. block) millions of people, because they don't like one person involved in the project.
Some people are extremely hateful and will resort to insults and threats to try to get what they want.
A large chunk of Mastodon (and other parts of the fediverse) will wall itself off from the rest of the fediverse, for a variety of reasons, some valid, some not-so-valid.
Some people actually hope they wall themselves off, since there seems to be a lot of hostility towards "outsiders" coming from them.
There is a huge demand for fediverse software that has better privacy, access control, and moderation tools.
The existing fediverse software that has these advanced tools are not widely know.
Bluesky users don't seem to care whether there is a bridge or not, and are amused at the reaction going on over on Mastodon.
People without principles / less investment / non-players added to mass is not very useful...
@gabriel @mjambon Part of my not wanting for certain things is exactly that -
● the existing quality of people is what I'd like them improve by themselves elsewhere or choose to jump across IF they are interested since the quality is so low with people or just different.
It's clear to me they are not wanting or able or many things - I've literally asked everyone probably (many are just not interested and we are also not getting message).
So rather than be brought over so easily without much conscious principles and do the same here (without really caring / saying no to things already / expecting short sentences / ultimately spreading the same TV culture and mentality of logic without a principled approach - yeah long sentence lol...) then yeah not need for them right now.
As much as they are 'good people' or good 'potential' - that don't have interest, WE as good people need to 'get the message' ourself and not over-spend our time or over-extend welcome to what is unwanted apart from all you can eat messaging or the work done for them under the wrong banner.
The average person can't handle it right now and better focus is on better seeds and those 🌱 that meet the bar so far getting here, as better judge of intentions going forward from this point.

It's like asking or expecting a company not to be capitalistic because that is the normal :)
Basically Mozilla and others are part of sub-company inside any government registration / creation (subsidiary) and so anything will have it's time in that creation and expected to go that way especially if useful...
And since it's created as a support for itself from day one, if it's useful enough the top tier will make things like this happen, a lot (that's the real normal for tech that is more 'allowed' like AI is pushed from top more than anything else we see or want).
It wouldn't be allowed if it wasn't useful, kind of like leaving door to freedom open, just no way they would.
'We The People' etc also underestimate what we're still in as design right from company creation.
Failing all this, things mostly used for paying taxes and building physical empire home and abroad.
Authoritative, Destructive structures by design.

After being with Mozilla for a little over 5 years, I've been laid off today, alongside a group of some of my favorite people. So, I'm on the job market! I've got ~8 years #iOS, #Swift, and #ObjC under my belt, working on everything from libraries all the way through full user-facing features. So, I'm #opentowork. Boosts would be much appreciated!

My rando opinion (whoever I'm supposed to be) is.. Well.. We're (us #fedi types) trying to build *our* social networks out of people we actually (want to) network with. We are the community gardens of social media, where each "neighborhood" tends to its own, and shares with everyone. We are the new growth forest using the mycelial internet to share our nutirents with each other. We're trying to shape our digital society in the image of the society we (want to) live in.

Two observations: 1) there are many people in the fediverse who clearly have been hurt in the past and are afraid of being hurt again. I totally sympathize. We need a roadmap to make the fediverse safer for them than it currently is, because I don’t think it’s as safe for them as they think it is, Ryan’s work notwithstanding. (Cont’d)
