In a world where nothing is straight it can entirely depend on the zoom you use in analysing things.

'straight' can also mean:

- planet physically operates at an angle or isn't 100% a straight line

- humans are not straight in the way they deal with each other, cheat or simply operate in their own individualistic line (they are unique not standard)

To people who keep telling me it's "GNU/Linux", and not "Linux".

The GNU project was crucial in developing the free software culture and I'm infinitely thankful for that. So was the #Linux kernel. But not every system running the Linux kernel uses GNU software. There's Linux distributions that don't have any GNU in them. Linux-based OSes can't run without the Linux kernel, but can without the #GNU core utils and software. So please stop being a troll repeating this mantra. Also #systemd FTW lol

Manual work is a good double-check to the question:

"Is this work actually needed or worth it?"

"IS digging / fucking up all this land by hand worth is and can I do with less or using more people incrementally?'.

Needing people manually (to dig or do anything) means you can check as you go via smaller more careful damage.

---------------------------------

We fuck up shit way too fast and the time and effort needed to do bigger things I feel comes under many categories of:

- cheating planet and people,
- business-making,
- short term thinking
- mass damage without ecological consideration / not thinking ecologically
- feeding greed using mass machines
- big machines are also part of military and government schemes which one want to avoid promoting.

I don't like arguing. But I like avoiding confrontation even less.

College should have a money-back guarantee if you don't make six figures fr fr

Technology's weak point is the ability to calculate real cost.

And anyway the cost is 'A LOT' since it pulls in just about all the other resources and sciences to get done making it superior but fragile (like a Lamborghini used on different terrain... looks nice and work occasionally super but bit of different terrain and the Lambo fails pretty quick.

When you have so many chains, factories, parts for factories, factories for factories... quite possibility it shifts the cost and hides it (man hides it from other man in a forever nested process inside another).

And then if that cost is at the beginning to the end arbitrary (set by man to whatever it wants for others to abide by) this means primitive technology probably wins long-term as it has less fault points and less extended bridges to get to a final product

So while natural / primitive products are 'poor' compared to space-aged type tech, actually it's a bit more honest (planet based) and not nesting things or moving the cards from one side to the other to pretend it words.

(e.g. one Japanese company stopping to make specific parts / O-rings might well stop many oil rigs from operating... and no oil means no life)

You could pick many parts and you could stop a car or industry from working almost 100%.

So while nature or primitive technology doesn't get the job done 100% and isn't superior now, in the future it would at leat work 100% (with will power) compared to say a inoperable factory or broken down vehicle and no bigger vehicle to take care of the small.

Kind of Mad Max film or Primitive Technology..

Tell your story (your life experience. Not just the negatives.)

e.g. How did you arrive in that position? (etc...)
That is most interesting I think...

NON-TL;DR READ ON...

Not just telling people what to do (although for me and some others it works 100% when pre-existing or new logic is already there or can be seen.)

But for other people it's different.
I *think* maybe other people need to see and make friends with others first and not to feel pushed.
Others might have a plug-in and play / replace way or anything-good structure in the mind for best attitudes, alignment, etc but not everyone is thinking like that about what keeps people and interactivity for the long term... (or indeed the friendliness and replacements as a solution for life itself!)

Films can be easier to watch and learn because of this probably.

Though having more-real people tell it I think is the way to go as something imperfect but more human than a film... like Grandma pulling out those amazing stories just when you didn't expect it... slightly off her trolley by drinking the strong wine at Christmans which instantly changes the body's blood ratio with almost any alcohol added!

Again I personally like it upfront with why you care or the point... but the reflection I think is what people like as a choice and not to have big feeling about needing to manage someone's passion or over-anxiousness.

People might not like for others to question them or say some truths, but they themselves can o it without being so offended >_<)

Here's a story to reflect exactly what YOU can't say even those others CAN and even though YOU AGREE WITH THEM!:
-------------------------
My mini-story:

I was in high school and walking down the street after coming out of my friends house... he said while walking:

-"My dad is such a bastard."
- Quickly I supported his statement and said "Yeah I know"...
- And he "What?..." so I repeated...
- He kind of stopped for a moment and looked me in the eye a bit and said "I can call him a bastard but you can't!"
- (and then I did the Charlie Brown wiggly line mouth thing..)
oo
~

I was thinking after "why can'T I agree with something he already said out loud! as true?"

Some analysis welcome... just to hear it in different words what you think is going on there (he wasn't the biggest bastard but maybe annoying, ratty or too narrow minded)

SUMMARY

People and story-telling seem to go together (not just the telling part!)

Tell your story even if it's generalised a bit.

As in film-making stories, as in life?

Seems to make sense and feel good. Perhaps more sharing...

Remember kids, Fascism does not have a "political home", it's quite happy to settle in where ever it's craftily applied by "we know what's best for all of you, so don't question us" fascists.

Play with the libre modular synthesizer Cardinal (based on VCV Rack, packing a metric ton of open-source modules) right in your browser!

@falktx who is the Cardinal's developer has made this online version.

Usually you'd want to use Cardinal either as a plug-in in your favourite DAW (like Ardour) or standalone, but with the web version you can have it running in seconds anywhere!

Assuming people are not perfect in text form certainly helps to get know someone

(i.e. imagine it's like looking through a different lens or it's a person with a disability... then you see what I mean- it's not ONLY all about the text people to understand people or meet them (so text / audio / video / IRL !) Did I miss anything?

Benefits of talking and almost random conversation... (almost the secret benefits in this post!...)

The mixture of self-exploring -at the same time allowing others tio do the same means you allow and achieves some asynchrony* and synergy* (meanings follow):

asynchrony - The relation that exists when things occur at unrelated times (in context of meeting randomly or regularly when you feel to talk and catch up that feels good after and +)

synergy - to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects alone

I come to the conclusion most people are locked in various ways and that because less fertile... people can't see why to do something not 'seen' (in the eye sense) until you start talking and multiplying opening and interest...

I don't want to judge anyway but present my findings from talking- and if you test it ( as ALL STEM should do ) then you can 'see' (hear) for yourself the genuine people and benefits of talking about whatever you want...

But I notice these things stopping you:

- Being wary of people (overall or a combination or people and 'people on the internet'
(so people are skeptic / distant when coming to use people + technology. My preferred way is
a) being aware yourself
b) going for it and see what happens (and judge-at-the-end of test)
c) take what good you can good - I do think alternative views fragment and defragment thoughts where bubbles tend not to or are not challenging enough in a friendly way

I do friendly chat, I do it safe and transparent as possible without needing to tell the whole world either - it's for you to also create conversation... so this is my invitation but I will call it your 'test' opportunity and ability to say "It's shit I tried and tested it" as STEM or as a person in the world caring about whatever you care about (what you care about is usually important that anything else).

QUESTIONS (OPEN TO ALL - STEM ALSO)

Can you articulate what you care about?
Do you want to practice safely and see how this text actually transforms into good feeling?

End note:
If you can type a direct message and consider an audio-only chat soon after (like in 10mins or 1 hours) then would you mind getting in touch?

@gabriel @wjmaggos
"How do you make health a good business?". In our time, you can't. Real health is not economically interesting. The most profitable health management is to keep people sick. It doesn't mean that one shouldn't be rewarded to help people being healthy, it means that it is not an activity compatible with business-oriented projects. Maybe one day, people will willingly value being healthy and make true doctors rich, but it shouldn't be the fundamental goal of health care anyway.
