I help people create audio / edit educational audio / podcast / music / visual short videos / transcript text
+ I like to add a bit humour while being quite strict in my own politics (opinions) but open / inviting for others to tell me what I should do if they can explain more than just a short comment (I don't mind it's healthy for me at least if you have logic and can stand yourself explaining).
FreeSchool is about Learning towards Freedom (which is about Uniting everyone slowly, even "1 by 1"... Easy with The Fediverse!
Not virtue signalling here only, but practise of EVERYTHING as we go. Judged by getting in contact (many have) and having courage to communicate (or seeking it from others is ok, EVERYONE needs a bit of courage or hand-holding to make big personal changes). Who else is there for example if family doesn't understand?
Learning and watching can be good and staying out of people's way, BUT better is doing something every day and helping each other with some tough decisions / lessons... and then being bold enough to do them. 1... 2... 3 that is all that's needed.

AUDIO CHALLENGE -
SAY IT DON'T SPELL IT ALL THE TIME!... :D
Consider it a challenge not to text about your next posts!!...
Probably texting is most used so this is to encourage trying to talk about it audibly to yourself or audio recording yourself on your own!
If you have something to say, feel free to send it privately. but this actually just the practice of saying it... sending is not required!
Act 'as if' people were listening to see and you had the stage... it's quite important for life and the time you may need to do this...

You may have lost an ability to talk about *a serious topic* or something from the heart (not just hi and bye stuff in real life remember!)
Seriously don't even send it privately... just see if you can make yourself seriously talk about a theme and record it after you find a flow about it / make notes or whatever... Theme ideas in the picture below)
BEST is something from you.
The aim of this is not to record you necessarily but from the people I've talked to I / we realised how practice really helps and time actually flies (which is a good sign) and then it becomes much more empowering or expressive or freeing to chat in future and practice yourself and then after record something like a conversation.
One day you might be no longer as shy, unpractised and appreciate this medium for borderline 'political' / close-to-heart stuff.
Again this task is first and foremost to pretend or act like you have something important to say and practice it all the way up until pretending to send it.
Not looking for perfection or excuses - I know you're not an actor or going to sound like reading Wikipedia (that's not what I'm looking for)

I am doing that, I've attached a screenshot on how it looks for me. This is a potential downside of Fediverse, just as email, people use different clients, and thus things render differently. With email clients its usually much easier to configure it to display things in a way you like, though!Just 5 mins even

Discourse might have support for being used in "mailing list mode" (user setting) where you configure to receive emails for certain categories and can send emails to start a topic.
This will require email to be properly configured in discourse.
And it appears, that existing mailing lists can be imported to discourse, so if done properly, it might not be too detrimental for existing workflows (i assume).

@freeschool yeah I think the filter of what the random people I am following here are talking about is usually pretty broad and I get a large swath of different topics. And then end up going and doing research into specific things after I read something that peaks my interest

I think about all the time I would have lost installing / reinstalling / trying to fix things / trying to make work-arounds / updating / being sucked into the new... and smile knowing how much time I've saved and then at the same time investing in the the mind-work which I see as the best investment to date
(for me and others).
The toys without the right mindset counts for much less at the end.
CAREFUL WITH IDEAS:
The mentality and mindset of the people is probably as important as the idea...
Giving bigger entities or bigger platforms ideas can end up with some parts being taken up faster and in the wrong way... so people with more resources and lack of conscience can run away with the wrong things. Like giving them more ammunition.

Less misinterpretation also means less damage early on in the introduction (you could imagine that you would need to make sure an engineer is qualified ebfore giving them the tools)
And training means less needing to convince people at the end why to backtrack or return to simpler tools or earlier ideas and instead keep / return to the more humble versions which was not supposed to have the steroid-injected commercial aspects of over-weight tech and various wasteful ways added for other very questionable reasons.

@freeschool Its not the rich who are oppressing us. Everyone oppresses us, rich, poor, middle class. People are just assholes.
Governments do what we need to do (give to other people) but not by stealing and pocketing of our donations at the same time...
Right now we're anyway paying ourselves and others with our own energy... and funding the rich to oppress us.
So I suggest reducing the bad money people and holes in between, and more creating reasons to spread things among ourselves

VIDEO STORAGE: I think I'm against big resolution copies of video online - so per video more videos...
(things like peertube or yewtu.be have a lot of big versions of files for arguably little use or could be put somewhere for download more than streaming)
So multiple video's for the same video I think overall is perhaps too much of a luxury / sucking big energy and processing power 9even for 1 video)... Could really be reserved for when it's really needed, The added videos (per video) are like a multiplier or compound equation in terms of cost / damage / energy during running time and download / upload / backup etc:
- bandwidth ( ↑UP and ↓DOWN streams for higher resolution... a lot of gb/s )
- storage cost per video (5 video for each video a pyramid of for example 2hrs = 2gb (1080p) + 1.5gb (720p) + 700mb (360p) and then smaller formats (which is ok to get people access at mobile speeds)
-CPU processing power / data centres encoding multiple video files per video (5 format let's say per video)
- massive backups, snapshots, daily routines that could be halved perhaps in terms of time / energy / hardware usage.
- and more considerations
Overall I'd like the medium formats and then 1 place to get big or to ask for it... rather than stream / allow people to not care (the hosts also have responsibility as well as users)
So designing (or not even creating the bigger files) is a type of responsible management. Let user back it up and have just 360p and 720p of files.
Something better than what you see pictured. (over-giving choice / not being used while eating resources just for being there *every* second of the day!!!)
Costs a lot of planet time / heat / storage for each video, and with various quality and reasons for video I think 360p / 720p is MAX and more needs justification or to hunt for it elsewhere (like asking the sources for a link).
The less all-you-can-eat system the more reality (unless you think all-you-can-eat is possible in world or worth the exchange... for a bunch of videos)
Eating the planet while someone forgets to reduce the quality and burn life is also part of this as it's often played at speed people's line's can't even handle (and then imagine sharing a household streaming everything)...
TL;DR
- Towards low footprint
A lot of room for improvement by cutting video and therefore reducing planetary footprint / damage from the cake=like setups we have now.
- Fast ways more than quality
- Giving choice to remember as best ways.
-Remembering user settings - I prefer 360p for example but video's often default to 720p :/ even in PeerTube... the default could be lower or learned per user.
LEWD ART / THE PSYCHOLOGY: There is something about the affinity of those sexually lewd things... it's interesting for a number of reasons...example is this (it's not that bad but interesting mix of characters):

It's people like this who put together quite amazing things which other people I'm sure are interested in (privately- like I might look at this) but then there are people that also share it openly which I'm not totally a fan of or against but more I am amazed at the ART... such ART of lewd drawing or sexual stuff isn't the main thing but the quality of the art which makes me think ...
"why can't we use these talented people to do other art also for other reasons that 'stimulate' us?" YouTube Comments: Imagine you were successful YouTuber...
How would you manage many many comments (not all need answering but maybe actually there is 1000 "wow that's great" and 100 more are a good comment / worth interaction / healthy as eco-system interaction...
Experts I've spoken to *always* have this problem - they want to sort things but interface or sheer mass overwhelms them.
This is not for Sir Richard Stallman... but it would help him and all experts because when in right mode or filters they are EXCELLENT :)
Even when 5 good people naturally gravitate towards you it can break you life! (overwhelm / be bad timing or something / many things... I'm not speaking for everyone but just imagine your were famous!)
Getting incoming mails or comment or what is important I think to answer - almost all or deal with and it's been a problem for long time (1000's of great comment on YouTube for example and such mixed level of learning)
For this scenario you can imagine all comments are genuine and so this doesn't have to be spam related and from 1000 there is 100 good things to reply... the focus here is quality mainly).
