I am in the middle of #writing my #Phd #dissertation and am actively reading/skimming 100s of papers. Symbols to track different aspects of the paper is amazingly helpful. #phd #phdchat #science #lifehacks #academic
The Sun today in hydrogen alpha. Processed with inverted chromosphere luminance.
I just realized it's Friday, which means #FridayNightZillow (I hope), and I truly felt a bit happier.
Since I know a lot of people who make light things <raises hand> struggle with feeling like their work isn't important, this is worth saying:

You need a solid resume to get a job outside of academia. But I’ve seen SO many resumes from academics that don’t understand the assignment.

Hi Mastodon! 🐘
I'm Michèle, an assistant professor in psychological methods from the Netherlands. I’m looking forward to talk and read about my research interests here on Mastodon (but I will definitely get distracted by funny animals and DIY videos). Topics you’ll find on my timeline:
🤖 #statcheck- a spellchecker for statistics
🔬 #metascience to improve psychological research
Looking forward to finding my way here!
One of the many things that sort of frighten me away from posting any sort of political opinion on here is the fact that any time I wish to critique anything going on The Left, I feel compelled to start with the disclaimer, "I consider myself to be liberal, but..." because most people automatically assume that if I dare to criticize their side, it must be because I'm conservative.
I'm sure it's just as bad among Republicans, but let's face it, how many of those are we encountering on Mast?
What you see on this photo is not from the Empire Strikes Back.
No, it is German police protecting a coal mine excavator in #Lützerath - a village planned to be demolished by the energy company RWE to extract coal that is not even needed for the energy security of Germany.
...lucky charms
I can't help pushing, or bumping into, big red buttons.
Could explain my marital status.
