#As AG Bonnie Lysyk reported...[the decision] about which parcels of land would be removed from the #Greenbelt was “undermined” by “non-elected political staff, and developers and their lobbyists.”

"Ms. Lysyk said the short list of sites considered for removal was hand-fed to a cloistered team of public servants by Ryan Amato, the chief of staff to Housing Minister Steve Clark, and that 92 % of the land that ultimately benefited was recommended by 2 developers who had access to Mr. Amato."

The Ford #Conservative govt has just announced they will restore the Public Health funding that they slashed in 2019.

👉 "Seems the Ford strategy now is to make self congratulatory funding announcements that are simply giving back a small portion of what they took away with funding cuts."

Climate change will affect us in ways we can’t imagine. We must end fossil fuel subsidies and new drilling now.

Prescribed burns have been happening in North America for centuries, first lit by Native Americans long before European settlers set foot on the continent. Responders light them to prevent wildfires from getting out of control. In the past they did this using potentially dangerous techniques — either on the ground manually or from helicopters.

Today, there’s a safer approach: Drones.

👉Did you know that Ford's #Bill23 has removed the power of #Ontario's Conservation authorities to review or mandate changes to development applications impacting any natural heritage system, such as waterways, ravine trails & farmland.

“The province doesn’t realize the full impact of their decision. Their approach is very simplistic: they just do & don’t think, or don’t care. If we don’t play ball, they’ll take the ball away.”

@AlisonCreekside
So, the guy who was Mayor for 12 yrs in cottage country town that Doug Ford calls his "second home" was also the guy who dropped #Bill23 on 'municipalities at 6 p.m. on Dec. 28, while the offices of city councils and conservation authorities were largely shuttered for the holiday break'.

The Ford government did not discuss Bill 23 specifically with the agencies or their municipal partners before releasing it.
