I’m honestly kind of stoked about everyone abandoning Instagram because I’ve spent nearly twenty years curating my Flickr gallery with the absolute moodiest of MySpace-angled selfies in anticipation of this moment.

I was in a news story about environmental policy and I didn’t hold back my true feelings about it. People in are upset about the land “swap” but I hope they can recognize that it is just one example of how forthcoming habitat and schemes will drain our natural assets in a faustian bargain.

Don't forgive yourself
for not being perfect.
You don't have be.
You only have to be you.
That's enough.

If you are positioning yourself as left leadership (at ANY level), you have a moral obligation to be the voice in the room arguing for masks/ventilation at events & against COVID normalization eugenics.

Let me say that again: you have a moral obligation to stand up to eugenics.

I'm tired of living like it's the 1600s:

Can I afford eggs at the market?
Are my family going to die of the plague?
Puritans are coming for my sinful lifestyle.

I want modern problems.
Modern Problems.

I don’t have much of a network on here, but hi, hello, I’m a front-end web developer and web accessibility specialist and I am looking for work

And their mandate letters are still well guarded secrets 😡

I had really fallen out of my morning habit, but I hopped back on. The day goes so much better if I start it out with a little exercise and a cup of water (and a lot of ). What routines kick your day off best?

#Google could give EACH of the 12,000 employees it just laid off a $1,000,000 severance and still have $5 BILLION in profits left over from its last quarter alone (Q4 profits were $17B)

Instead, they just dumped 12,000 people onto the job market, which affects everyone, in a society in which such things as healthcare rely on employment.

When are we going to stop giving corporations that leech off us a free pass on civic responsibility?

Sand under a microscope is much more interesting. Only 250x magnification is required...

Jay Kuo writes,

"It has been more than four years since the Senate confirmed Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court by a narrow vote of 50 to 48, despite credible accusations of sexual assault while Kavanaugh was at Yale. But the full extent of his criminal sexual acts has never truly been exposed. That is because, as the film explores, the FBI hid it from all of us on purpose."

Twilight in June (1950). Edwin Holgate was a member of the Beaver Hall Group in the 1920’s and was invited to work with the Group of Seven in the 1930’s. He is, perhaps, better known for his portraits but his landscapes, like this one, are beautiful. #CanadianArtist #painting #landscape #mastoart

I've been reading a lot recently on the major threat of #invasivespecies (transported by humans) on native #biodiversity.

This thought-provoking new piece in @theconversationau explores the potential for future #evolution or, at least adaptation, for some of the animals introduced to #Australia by humans. A sobering read on the impact of our own migration:

They found a policing approach that works! Is it harsher enforcement? Zero tolerance? Throwing more people in jail? Bigger military-style weapons? More macho bullshit?

No.
