Yes!
it disturbed me also but didn't know how to turn it off...

"Les "CW's... "Long Post"... " ???
Long post
@freemo @design_RG @zleap
That confirms your **great ethic** which i really need!
Thank a lot for this.
You can't imagine how that makes me feel right at home!

Btw, I don't understand something.
Being part of Qoto is allowing us to use all these:
NextCloud - https://cloud.qoto.org
GitLab - https://git.qoto.org
GitLab pages (including user hosted pages) - https://*.qoto.io
FunkWhale - https://audio.qoto.org
PeerTube - https://video.qoto.org
Discourse - https://discourse.qoto.org ?

I have a question which I feel might be important for me to ask.
I have been thinking of blogging to help with the theme I spoke about and I may have a service I'm going to propose in my blog on top of an e-book (to help people to develop their own autonomy).
If I understand well, I shall not talk about any services I propose.
Can you confirm this to me so that I am not going against qoto's frame?
Thank you.

Thanks for the reminder.

Oops, I'm doing it straigth away!
@freemo
I'm sure you had a look through this:
https://alternativeto.net/software/discourse/?license=opensource
Its worse, the install is non standard docker. It is done in such a way it cant exist with other docker installs on the same box so it absolutely must be run as the only service on its own box...
It really is horrible.
Funny thing is they insist they dont force people to install it that way (and banish them if they try to help people with alternative installs) because "we want you to be happy with your instance and we want it to just work"... well guess what, I'm not happy!
@freemo @design_RG @zleap
Are there better alternatives?
Long post
@freemo @design_RG @zleap
I didn't know you had one😅.
>GitLab is a single application for the entire software >development lifecycle. From project planning and >source code management to CI/CD, monitoring, and >security.
@design_RG @freemo @zleap
Yes I was very surprised by the price!
It is more expensive to run something like that than to have a website.
I know it is not the same job but still.
As you say wtf...
@freemo @design_RG @zleap
what?
Yet their claim is an ease of installation in own server.
May I ask if you use it because there is no alternatives in terms of functionalities and open source. I was also going to say ethic (very important for me) but doing what you've mentioned is hardly ethical to me...
@zleap
Oops, I see I've made some orthographic mistakes:
>When I was teaching english I wanted 1st to know what were THEIR interests and their passions.
Sorry 😊
@design_RG @freemo @zleap
If it fits yes definitely...

That could be nice!
As for gitlab, I thought of it (it is better than github) but:
1. I felt that I needed to have a dev project to get on board
2.I thought I needed to have at least some basic skills in html - css - js and that's not yet the case plus just to download and install makes me spin - that's how non-tech I am
3. I think they use AWS which I'm not so fond of...

This would be the kind of subjects I'm thinking of.
My blog needs major work but that can give you an idea of what I have on my mind😜

Now I understand why you go back and forth between the 2...
Very good to known!
My 1st idea was that the group is on very specific subject all dealing with learning... but thinking of it Learning to develop (personal) autonomy, self-sufficiency and individuation might actually be ok in there.🤗
