@authorbwest that's another problem with the bird site, as someone with little to no interest in American-specific issues the way the bird site seems to revolve around such things makes much of the content irrelevant to me.

I'll admit, I'm already more of a fan of this decentralized dwelling over the bird site. Just feels more community based, and, most importantly, people actually see my poor excuse for jokes.

@mollyjongfast I know! It encourages "look at that freak over there" type of tweets.

This site shows you how the quote retweet function is actually kind of destructive.

Late #introduction post!

Hi! I'm Simon. I'm an Oxford based indie game developer and tech artist.

I worked at Natural Motion, Frontier, ported VVVVVV, and then made Maia. Worked with Spilt Milk and Preloaded and freelanced about a bit. Now, I'm shipping Soccer Story with Panic Barn.

I've got a few more of my own games in the pipe including a C&C-like that I hope to put into production next year.

I also run a community garden called Oxgrow in my spare time!

As someone who enjoys ChromeOS as a daily driver (Crostini and super fast boot times are an awesome combo!). I think this is wonderful news: neowin.net/news/steam-enters-b

@gpowerf I only ever access via a 3rd party app except on rare occasions, so I think I missed most of "the algorithm". Normally I just saw people I followed, in chronological order - as it should be! This place doesn't feel too dissimilar, especially now nearly everybody has migrated over. 🐦 looks quite deserted. I've locked my account now too. I'm not intending to close it yet, but can't see it getting much use.

@confusedbunny it's too optimised for negative engagement. A bit like Tiktok it became too much of a time waster for me.

I think for me to abandon Twitter entirely, I'd need more official media orgs (e..g Sky, BBC, CNN) on here, more journalists because I get a lot of my news from Twitter (esp breaking news).

Also more official bodies (e.g. UKHSA, ONS) so I can see when new official research & stats are released on e.g. Covid, the economy, etc.

And finally academic journals (e.g. BMJ, Lancet, NEJM) who I rely on for latest health research!

Will they come?

I've just locked my Twitter account in an attempt to slowly wind it down.

@gpowerf I got it just because I was curious about the wildly different review scores and...

It's... kinda really good? I know, I'm as shocked as anybody.

But yeah, movement is satisfying and mission design is solid. Tehcnically messy, as usual, but... maybe the best 3D one since Generations at least?

I've still not decided if I should get Sonic Frontiers or not. On the one hand, I LOVE the old Sonic games and he's so iconic, on the other hand, I've not liked the modern Sonic games.

My kids really want to play it though.

Me too. Kind of...

Hey, I'm Sam! I'm a Senior Community Manager who has been in the Games Industry since 2015!

I'm currently working with @RiyoGames on a JRPG called Threads of Time! 🎉
