@petetaylor @Thisrandomdad@mastodon.coffee I hardly play on the Switch, my kids tend to use them more than I do. Over the last year, I've played a whole lot of 2600! I had the capacitors replaced on one of my 2600s and modified for AV out and I played it as much if not more than I've played any modern system lately.

@EC64 that's what a smaller and more engaged audience does.

@jonnypencils@fosstodon.org I don’t think mine will.

@Thisrandomdad@mastodon.coffee I'm currently using the Series S, GFN, and Switch. I don't really tend to play games on my computers, I use them for other stuff :) I'm tempted by a Steam Deck though. That could make for a neat little desktop too.

@Thisrandomdad@mastodon.coffee I like mine a lot too. I bought it as soon as the announcement to close down Stadia went out. Game Pass really is a pretty good deal, and I really can't complain about the performance of the little thing.

@4ScarrsGaming that’s very cool!

It is hard to believe the Xbox Series consoles are already 2 years old today. They still feel new! I guess the shortages during the pandemic kind of did weird things to our perception of time here. #gaming

@freemo I'm glad I chose this instance. Thanks for this insightful update.

If you enjoy tinkering around with the C64 or Vice you absolutely need this book! It is invaluable. #xp #retrocomputing

@zleap @freemo @nullifidian there’s also the issue with the GNU Image Manipulation Program.

@RobRetro4 I do remember it, but not terribly vividly.

@freemo @zleap @nullifidian I've not seen that happening. All I've seen are people commenting on two camps:

1) WOW! Mastodon and the Fediverse are great! I have a new home.

2) Mastodon is so complicated you'd need a PhD in nuclear physics to even understand 10% of how to get started with it! (exaggerated for comedic effect)

@nullifidian @freemo human beings are amazing creatures. He can create a business that makes spaceships that land like science fiction crafts yet can't resist the urge to keep quiet and instead chooses to shoot his own foot multiple times.

The aliens must be fascinated by us ;)

@freemo it is that easy. He simply needs to stay quiet.

@freemo I'm thinking there will be more drama on Twitter in the days to come under the new management. We are likely to see more spikes then. Some people will never move though.

@MoreFunMakingIt I'm watching and those are really tiny! I don't trust my soldering skills. I learned to solder with huge RC car components.
