@gamingonlinux I really do hope the Steam Deck kicks off a new form factor for PCs and also that it starts the trend of gaming PCs coming with Linux pre-installed. Is there any reason why Valve couldn't do a laptop, a small Xbox Series S style gaming PC, and a full-size high-end model?

I really hope those are their next steps.

@thelinuxEXP great video. I've been a Linux user at home for over 20 years, but at work more often than not there have been one or two applications that keep me using a Mac or a Windows Machine, that or work requirements to use a specific OS.

I don't use a Mac or Windows at home at all, just work.

I don't know how to use Photoshop, I use GIMP.

I don't know how to use a commercial video editor, I use Kdenlive.

I avoid MS Office like the plague and use Libre, even at work.

But the office keeps me attached, even if minorly to a commercial OS.

In case you missed it, here's last week's comic illustrating the history of #Twitter in four panels:

Want to know how Atari tried to conquer Japan (the second time around) and the cool version of the 2600 that they designed to try to achieve this? Well you're in luck, because I made a video all about it: youtu.be/bso-rI8eZ-Y

I wonder if many of the new members of the Fediverse, for whom this might be their first conscious experience of #FOSS, will a) compare the polish on various Fediverse apps unfavourably to those they used to use for Twitter, & then b) think of that old story about the pigs marvelling at how well the farmer fed and looked after them... Noting that, c) Twitter probably had 1000-10000 times more $ invested in it than the Fediverse, by folks expecting massive returns.

Anyway, as you hear about fuckups on moderation and poor decisions by a handful of volunteer mods on servers that have grown by hundreds of thousands of users in a week, keep that in mind.

Released in Europe in 1999, the Dreamcast was for SEGA their last foray into building their own console platform. It was certainly a valiant attempt and one that still has a place in many retro enthusiast’s heart.

Classic games included Virtua Tennis, Shenmue and Sonic Adventure.

Another nice feature is VGA support, resulting in a fairly large selection of games supporting 480p – a progressive scan format.

I also love the memory storage for saved games, the VMU.

15mm is most definitely my favourite scale to paint just for me. Fun little Master Chief 3d print for my OPR UNSC army.
