This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.

The computer science department at Brown University is hiring faculty in HCI this year in "Human-computer interaction, including HCI+AI, and socially-responsible computing in HCI, especially explored through multiple methodologies."
The post is here: https://cs.brown.edu/about/positions/
The department has been growing, and has had an emphasis on socially responsible computing. Brown is in Providence, a city with great lifestyle and terrific arts/food scene, and the application deadline is December 1.
@ChrisPirillo Garbage Pail Kids!!! Cool 👌 #memories
@andyvgr @gamingonlinux I think the affordable handheld is more compelling given how affordable it is. Sell a laptop at $1500+ that doesn’t run Windows and it will take more convincing for the average PC gamer.
My theory though is that now that Steam Deck consumers are used to SteamOS and they know what to expect they would be more open minded to a laptop. However, not at $1500, it has to be priced more in line with a mid-range Chromebook.

Fascinating to see tech people learn that setting up a Mastodon server, keeping it secure, paying the bills for hosting and the 24/7 devops...
...is the easy part.
Proper steering of a community and keeping tabs on moderations is 95% of the work.
Don't start a server if you're not willing to learn and do that.
