@trinsec heh, thanks. Hours of practise recently. And I mean HOURS and HOURS! All I’ve played for a while is Halo with gyro aim.
@trinsec I can do both, opted to mostly use gyro because it’s easy to do on the desktop, TV, and handheld. But yeah. I can game on M&K too.
@trinsec gyro works supremely well. I was sceptical it after practise I love it.
@rocam54@lor.sh exiting North America and forming a new an official Latin American continent that starts from the border down… Florida may be welcome too as long as they meet certain standards.
I’m enjoying #HorizonZeroDawn but I have to come up with a #SteamInput config that gets #gyroaiming working properly, I can’t really say that I’m looking forward to plowing through this with right stick alone. I’ve not killed that many robots yet and I’ve concluded that right stick aiming really isn’t that fun after playing with gyro for a while. https://qoto.org/@gpowerf/109727449435247911

Sympathy for the thousands affected by big tech layoff, especially to the ones in the US where that’s done inhumanely by an email + cutting off all access overnight.

@adamcsmith you know what? I’ve driven plenty of trucks and SUVs with low ratio and various kinds of diff locks… but never one with a 2 speed axle! I’d love to try one with front and rear 2 speed axles simply to get a super low ratio and be able to crawl at snail’s space.
@gamingonlinux games aren’t solely a business, games are works of art but sadly publishers and devs are run by legal and financial people who refuse to see this. Much like the history of cinema is preserved in film archives the history of games deserves to be preserved in similar archives. And there needs to be regulation regarding the open sourcing of games that are no longer sold simply for preservation purposes.

When games that are live service, or rely heavily on servers get cut off, they should at the very least release the server code so others can continue hosting it.
Stop being afraid of open source and embrace it. Too many games will be lost to greed.

I'm reading this thread from Googlers who were laid off today and it's harrowing.
20 year veterans wake up to find their corp access blocked and an email to their personal accounts informing them of their termination.
A lot of these folks said "I figured once I got to Google I'd never have to do another job interview again so I haven't updated my resume in over a decade, etc."
Never attach your identity and self-worth to your employer. They owe you no loyalty. Never have, never will. 😔

@trinsec hell no! I don’t do that in real life, and I’m not about to do it in a game. I mean, right now this very vending machine cannot connect to the network. This is the vending machine side quest… am I about to go on it? Nope….
@trinsec OK. I’ll try not to deviate too much if there are side quests and such. I’ll make it a sprint. Stray took me just over 10 hours, perfect length 😄

I have two FAT PlayStation 2 consoles, so I wanted to install a compatible hard drive for convenience.
First Hard Drive adapter for PS2 arrived but wasn't working in either console, so that had to be refunded 😢
Ordered another one and this one works, but only in the black PS2 and not the silver version I have. Not sure why? 🤔 Sadly the black PS2 the fan is very noisy, however at least I can begin ripping some of my discs and playing some games.
I ended up playing #HorizonZeroDawn last night after a few rounds of #HaloInfinite. Horizon Zero Dawn is super impressive graphically! I hope I don’t get bored of it though, I started to get #plaguetalerequiem vibes with it… #gaming
