This is hilariously stupid. I mean, just painfully stupid. And, yes, it's real.
@kvesti looks like it, he seems to be doing everything possible to destroy it. I don’t know to what end. Perhaps it is just perverse pleasure.

Elon Musk’s latest business model innovation is that users need to pay to read tweets.
New users can read 300 tweets a day, unverified users 600 and paying users 6000. Do users get a revenue share for writing tweets now?
This guy is a genius when it comes to bad ideas in running a social networking app.

This is hilarious. Twitter appears to be DDOSing itself.
Something's wrong with Twitter so feeds aren't loading. Nothing loads, but my Twitter feed is still trying to load, but it doesn't stop trying after so many attempts.
Notice the error message that I'm being rate limited. I haven't done anything more than attempt to view my home feed. Now notice the bouncing scrollbar.
I'm gonna guess there was an bug introduced that was resulting in an endless loop of trying to fetch results, but with no results available, Twitter would have basically been DDOSing itself.

Does anyone know of any relationship between Bill Gates / Microsoft with Ronald Reagan? Did Microsoft have any meaningful contact with congress or executive during Reagan years? Anything helps here. #ushistory #historyofinformatics #historyofcomputing #histodons

"The fediverse isn't profitable"
Actually, the fediverse is a great place for artists and creators to find support for work they are passionate about and pour their soul into. It's just not profitable for multi-million dollar corporations that want to fill the pockets of already far too wealthy execs.
@governa weirdly enough I thought it might get me watching again after a decade of not bothering with F1 😅 perhaps it is to get people like me back.

@vitaminsludge@mastodon.ie sure. First commercial maglev vactrain and someone will claim tech bros reinvented the steam locomotive.
I wonder if people made comments like this when Bermuda rigged boats came out.
These boat bros from Bermuda just made their boats look like quesadillas. 🤔
@stavvers these aren’t traditional sails, kites have several advantages over a sail. Firstly they scale better, there’s no need for a massively strong mast, secondly they are more efficient with small power kites producing huge pulls, thirdly you have the option to fly it very high up where the winds could be much stronger. This is wind power technology but a step up much like going from a square rig to a Bermuda rig, it’s more efficient.

@gpowerf A lot of smaller content creators don't get that many sponsors. Plus even big name creators made sponsored content for shady companies like online therapy that collects and sells your data or gambling sites. Furthermore, AdBlock is piracy in my opinion. It's no different than torrenting a movie. I get that people are concerned about their privacy but what they're doing is essentially stealing from these content creators. If they are so concerned they can stop using the platform.
