When I joined Mastodon, everyone was saying “just pick a server (instance) it doesn’t really matter which one.” I saw Universeodon and thought “hey, that sounds cool!” Turns out it’s literally for people who love planets and space! 😂 Oops!!

@Retrosponge PS: I'm so incredibly bad at Fortnite that it is a running joke with my kids that I cannot play a game where you have to do two things at the same time. Shooting and building? No daddy can't do that.
@juddium I do have games on Steam that I've had for years and I've never played. You are not alone.
@Retrosponge I'm still relatively new to it so I'm even still learning the old maps. I do love the game though! It bright me into modern first-person shooters.

@bpub that is a good point! I didn't consider Linux support. But thankfully everyone in that team has access to Windows. Except me!

@LordArse@toot.community massively wealthy celebs with millions of followers need to start thinking of contributing to the community. The reality is that nobody wants the whole of BTS in their server for free. They seem like a cool bunch of guys, but that's too big a problem to have. I'm not hosting a server, I'm just imagining how I'd feel. I'm more than happy to be corrected.

For anyone interested, we have a chat room and matrix server for QOTO. Its usually not very active from now until about 10 hours from now, but the rest of the day me and a few people are active there.

Thoughts on responsible redesign of @bbcmicrobot for the #fediverse:
1) CWs for animated content. Most is fine but flashing graphics can be annoying even harmful
2) Externally hosting video content to reduce burden on our host instance. PeerTube? Will start image-only and investigate.
3) Bot called and replies on the #bbcmicrobot tag so it’s easy to follow and filter.
Would love to hear the views of more experienced community members on this

@LouisIngenthron yes. I'm actually one of the few people looking at what he is doing with some enthusiasm.
But I don't envisage using this for every meeting. It is more of a special icebreaker for a new team to be used to bring everyone out of their shell.

@freemo same! There's the obvious risk of making something cheesy. And I don't envisage this as a tool utilised regularly, it would just be a special super weapon of an icebreaker.
