Remembering when this happened. The event seemingly summed up the challenges of the last few years leading up to it. It still amazes me that it occurred less than two years ago. :blobcatsadpats:

#Help me out. Our #Mastodon instance runs on #Docker on my Ubuntu server. I'm looking for a good #backup method. I've got an unlimited Google Drive I can put stuff on, I'm just looking for best practices for backing up the Docker volumes and core files without too much #downtime.

#PDP #RetroComputing #Project Wrap-up!

This weekend I built a PDP-11 replica. Here's the completed build running 5 sessions.

Framework laptops look incredible.
This insight into how well they, and the team behind them, react when things go wrong from @pluralistic is a reminder that their commitment to making laptops good for the USER again is solid.

My current 7th Gen i5 HP laptop is still working very well, I’m not replacing it any time soon, but when I do finally need a new #laptop it will absolutely be a Framework one.

@wiredfire @pluralistic wow! That’s really cool. I’m a big fan of products that are designed to be fixable. Plus they are well priced too.

@kusuriya @thegibson I don’t know who you are or what you are planning. But I’m in!

@mcneely from what I've gathered, largely anecdotal of course, just the sense I've gotten from reading toots is that the crowd here is largely: older (40s-50s), huge chunk are Linux users, and tech-savvy. I fit in perfectly :)

@trinsec @DeepGreenDesign I have 8 gigabytes of largely pointless stuff. I don't think qoto would like that on their servers :) qoto feels like someone's house.

@DeepGreenDesign I've seen projects in Github that might be useful for this. But you'd need your own instance.

Quick update on my Twitter archive. It has downloaded successfully.

@waded if I’m not mistaken it allows you to remotely wake it up from a different device to do remote play.

I think I mentioned it before... But I really, really DO like Game Gears.

Not to work on, mind. They're pigs to work on, but I do enjoy the results of that labour sometimes!

I could have UV printed this shell, but without access to one of those, nor wanting to let someone else do all the hard work...Hand made decals and paint will have to do!

I went with the most 90s theme I could, plus a full recap, USB-C power mod, IPS Screen and a lovely new sound board!

@LordArse@toot.community one of the best games I’ve ever played. I put so much time into this game, both on Dreamcast and arcade.
