@gpowerf

Any junior manager would have understood that people in a company have choices, and bullying is completely wrong.

But not that man-child.

Musk is no way one quarter as smart as he's made out to be.

@BrianLinuxing I'm very glad. Their sacrifice benefits the whole industry. I don't want other tech companies to think it is OK to treat employees like dirt simply because Elon Musk does it.

@manu become a photographer. I'm sure a lot of people want to see pictures of Elon at Twitter HQ looking gormlessly confident.

Twitter nonsense

So... if I'm following this correctly, a week ago Elon ended remote work and said everyone needs to come into the office.

Then he demands that by end of day today employees sign a "I'm hardcore" oath, which less than 50% signed.

And now... he's shut down all the offices that he demanded everyone come back to for a few days in order to officially fire everyone who didn't sign?

@cedric I always preferred Casio. No other reason than I was as better at programming Casio ones than TI ones simply because I learned to do it first.

@jwildeboer @libreoffice I’m divided on this one. On the one hand it does seem like a stretch, but on the other I’m curious to see if they come up with a super innovative and cool use of the Blockchain which makes us rethink what an office suit is capable of.

Essentially as a LibreOffice user I’m open minded.

I decided to delete my Twitter account, so rather than procrastinating, Just got on with it.

@shareefjackson totally agree. It's incredible what they manage to sell this console for.

@mguhlin @edutooters I run the standard Debian distro which is fine as I normally run a Debian/Ubuntu based distro on other devices. And you are right, Android apps can be very useful too.

Even for games, there's a lot of Android games you can enjoy on a Chromebook with a larger screen and a controller.

@mguhlin @edutooters I find the Linux container very useful. If you have a relatively powerful Intel based Chromebook and you are familiar with Linux then in my humble opinion a Chromebook is a phenomenal daily driver for most tasks.

I am not sure what is wrong with the image shown but thankfully here we don't have to put up with nonsense such as this.

I've just made a quick-and-dirty FIFA World Cup Viewer for Atari 800XL with FujiNet's json parser. #Atari #FujiNet #OpenLigaDB #8bit

What gets me about this is how badly wrong people are consistently trying to use Birdsite.

It is a *micro* blogging platform.
Threads are useful for all sorts, but planning long-form text to a microblogging system shows a failure to understand the platform (or the web).

That Twitter is encouraging it is worse (if unsurprising).

Microblogging: Twitter, Mastodon

Blogging (or Macroblogging): Wordpress, or other full blogging platform

Somewhere in the middle: Tumblr

I've requested an archive of my three most important Twitter accounts. I have a feeling that if Twitter starts having issues, the **Request Archive** feature probably won't be a priority. 🤣
