@SevenDeviled I agree with you. Mastodon feels way less American than the bird app and that’s hugely refreshing! One thing that I didn’t like about the bird app is that it centres around American topics and politics that are not directly relevant to me. Mastodon is different as there’s no algorithm amplifying these irrelevant (to me) topics.

@SonnyBonds it is easy for me to say this as I’ve been a Linux user for a couple of decades. But why dual boot? What will you miss?
@wiredfire @georgetakei I use Twitter on the Web on iOS and Android anyway. I don’t install apps unless I really need them.
@georgetakei this would be the Musk equivalent of COS (China Operating System). Which will be hard to popularise as it isn’t backed by something quite as influential as the Chinese Government.
The power cut last night lasted for several hours! We only got power again in the early hours of the morning. #xp

Graphing calculators were required in my high school math classes, and subsequently there was a ROBUST traffic in homebrew and pirated calculator games, which we traded over serial port at lunch. You could trace generations of the same game, made by someone now long graduated, slowly hacked and improved and probably still being played by some generation of kids still required to have a TI-84 for physics. I think about this all the time
